PTO Added but pushes me over 40

Let's say I added 6 hours of PTO to get my hours for the week up to 38.

However let's say I picked up another 4 hours shift so now I am at 42.

What happens?

Does the PTO get reduced so I am not over 40?

Yes PTO will get reduced. HR cannot approve PTO until the week is over so they can see how many hours you worked that week.

HR should cut your PTO hours down to total 40 for the week. If they don't and approve it outright, you won't get OT pay for it.

Pardon my ignorance, but how do you use vacation hours if you don’t get your average weekly hours? I can’t find a way on myTime. It used to be so easy.

ou do it like a time off request. Select PTO.
