If it is a reasonable sale price, just change the price.

When you do price inquiry it will list a sale price if it had been on sale in the last 30 days.
If the price they quote is the same as the sale, it could be an old sign & it would be acceptable to change the price.
If it's an extreme price difference you might want to flag down your GSTL/GSA.

I only backup cashier now. If it is something very minor I will change the price but otherwise that is what your light is for at the register. Yes some stores are stricter then others.....
