A close friend from another store was offered a pharmacy tech position earlier and was asking me some questions about the promotion. They said my friend would have to go through a background check process.

What exactly does this entail? Is it more thorough than the one we're all given when we're hired on?

Is it a drug test/finger print database test?

Yeah, it all depends on your state. In some places, you need to be licensed to step past where the cash register is.
