Hi everyone, so I've only been at my Target for about a month and I'm thinking of transferring to another position in another department. I work Front End, doing carts and backup cashier and everything that goes with it. I'm doing very well right now, but last night after a bathroom check I just didn't know if I could go through with it anymore; it's bad enough we were so busy and low on carts constantly so I could only do 3 or 4 checks yesterday - and both restrooms were in awful condition; I suppose that that's my fault for not being able to do the checks regularly, but what are you supposed to do when carts are low and every time you bring in a new row it's gone when you bring it yet another one?
Anyway, we have one cart attendant (who does other sort of work when me and the other new guy are around, but when we're not he does carts) who can close, and another who can't because he can't work nights because he's a minor. And then we have me. I asked the first one, who's been at Target for 4 years and has done carts for 2, how long I could wait until I transferred somewhere else in the store. He said 90 days, but I don't know if I can wait 2 more months. And I dont want to leave, because we don't have someone to replace me - so I don't want to end up screwing them and perhaps the entire store over.
So I'm kind of in a pickle here. I want to get another position, even though it's not so bad at times, but I just hate sweating and being outside constantly. It exhausts me - but I don't want to cause any stress for the other team members in my same boat.
If I did switch, I was thinking of looking into Hardlines or maybe just permanently cashier. At this point, anything inside is an option.
