I have worked at my location for 4 months now and nobody has ever mentioned my water bottle until today. it's a metal owala with stickers I've collected. if I didn't bring it to work i probably wouldn't drink any water and probably wouldn't survive the day(i use it to ground myself) today I was told that I'm not allowed to have it and I don't know what to do. she acted like it was a big deal but nobody has ever mentioned it before. is there any way to get around this? I'm autistic and it would cause genuine distress to have to stop using my current water bottle. is there anything I can do?

Proper hydration is important. Was it kept out in open view of the public? Were said stickers disrespectful in any way? Offensive? Suggest get a non decorated container or simply refill as needed a conventional water bottle. She? Who is "she"? A TL, an ETL?

Are they saying you can’t have your water bottle? Are they saying you can’t have water or any beverage? Are you able to get a doctors note saying you need water. They can’t deny you with a note. Who told you no? If it was another team member than talk to a leader. Was it a leader than talk to ETL. Was it ETL then talk to HR leader or ETL. Do you see any other cashiers with water bottles? If you do talk to them.

At my store water only is allowed and it generally has to be in a container so that they can see it is clear water or water plus ice. They do periodically give out transparent water bottles, I am not sure if they only go to the front end or to everyone.

I was told that the reason it can't be a non see through container is people put things other than water and a water spill is bad enough but a non water spill is worse.
