I came into work and saw that we were selling the Nook on 09/23 while the set date was 10/01. Anyway it is $139 and $249 for the tablet version.

I'm going to have to have a LONG talk with people set stuff up. I will have to murder/destroy whoever did this because I think they already have sold a couple.

We are selling the Galaxy tab, and we will also be selling the Kobo, which some of us already have in stock. The reset is going to be a massive reorganization of the current electronics devices we sell, and hopefully for the better. Who knows, with the specialist knowledge required to sell these items, maybe corporate will wake up and make electronics TM's specialists like every other electronics store. Otherwise, I'm just going to start having the Cart Attendant answer Electronics questions, because we both get paid the same so obviously our value is the same in the eyes of corporate!

Electronics TMs used to be specialists... Target eliminated that position in AE 2009 afaik. Now you do the same work for less pay.

I am aware of that, which does nothing to improve my general disposition against the retarded move to cut the specialist position. I am the only person in the Elec department that spends time to understand the products A to Z...and I get paid no more than the person that rings up people all day instead. I love how retail punishes you for being intelligent.

When I saw the electronics visual adjacency our store is getting an 8ft planogram called tablets. The electronic planograms came in yesterday but I didn't have a chance to look at them yet.

If you are getting paid the same as a cashier, then something is wrong. Cashiers are in a lower pay grade, compared to us "brand TMs". It's not by a huge amount, but it's still decent.
