So I've been working for target for just about 5 years. Was originally elec specialist then elec brand TM. I've been working with my etl and tl on development for about 2 years.

I put in for a gstl position and interviewed. I wasn't selected but was told I did great on the interview and they would keep me in mind.

A week after my feedback I was told. would be interviewing with our DM but not what for. Two days after my interview the other GSTL was being walked out in handcuffs.

Would it be safe to assume they're bringing me in for that spot? Is it typical to interview with the DM just to get "signed off"?

Not even going to ask...

The day I got supervisor powers aka Change Fund access/CO training... my STL told me like 8 different counts of GSTL/GSA's who stole from the CO/Lanes and got caught within 12-24 hours. I don't know if that was to spook me or what I found it pretty humorous.

I will never forget a Sr TL that went in to the CO, stuffed a bunch of money in her shoes/socks, and actually thought no one would notice.

The gstl was stealing front lanes merchandise. That's all I was told.

Well anyways I was signed off by our dtl and now I'm just waiting for my stl to decide if I should go gstl or sftl.
 
Sometimes when you do go for interviews and not selected but scored high enough. They will keep your name for future positions.

I'm hoping I get gstl. But I have a slight speech impediment and I'm afraid they may hold that against me. I feel like salesfloor would be basically what I did as a specialist just with more paperwork and team management. Gstl would definitely bring me out of my comfort zone and offer much more development opportunities.
 
One of our fav TLs has a speech impediment & even makes jokes about it (she was a voice major & took diction from Mel Tillis).

Re: theft & CO - can't tell you how many different stores I filled in for CO after their people were busted for theft.

A speech impediment is nothing to hold you back. I can't get into specifics, but there was someone in our group who just got bumped up BIG TIME, and they had one as well.
 
Oddly enough this is how I came into the GSTL role. I was interviewed for TL and told I would be on "the bench". A week before my DTL interview our GSTL was hauled away for stealing money. I then got his job. I personally think that if you are handling money that you should realize you will be one of the most watched TL's/TM's by AP.
