The scheduling of certain fill groups when it comes to price change is just mind boggling. Why would you have the frozen batch have over 137 different DPCIs the night before there is a huge FDC truck? I spent about 3 hours pulling that crap and did not even finish it. I was afraid that I was going to run out of room in the already crammed freezer. This new FDC schedule is laughable and has been a disaster from the start. I am hoping that it implodes and that the always wonderful and bright higher ups learned that they made a mistake and change it.
Anyways back to price change, I sadly have to pull price change 4 out of the 5 days that price change is in the PDA. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are notorious for being huge. I just want to know why that is. Why can't that crap be evened or leveled out so instead of having 10 pallets on one night, there would be 5 pallets each on two nights?
You should have seen the amounts of price change I pulled in the freezer. I'd go to a location such as 045A01 and basically clear that whole location out. I'd have to climb up the rinky dink step ladder and go to like 045A07 and clear the entire thing out. It was ridiculous and I didn't even finish. I was able to pull the open stock and that took about 2 hours. I barely got to pull any of the case stock that was price change. And another funny thing is that a lot of the brands I had been pulling in the freezer for price change were on pallets from the FDC truck. So yep, I'm guessing the majority of the crap on those FDC pallets is price change. What a joke.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous. Why are Wednesdays always the worst days for price change? (In my store that's a really busy day too--FDC, regular truck, and a billion price change eaches. Ugh!)
Mondays and Fridays seem to be pretty small, why can't they re-allocate some departments to those days?

I feel for you in the freezer. I was in there for about an hour on whatever night that was. Last night took less than 10 minutes.

Wednesdays have become the biggest days for price change because they moved Stationary to Wednesday (it used to be tuesday..) so now not only do you have Mens, HBA, pets, baby, and Grocery.. but you have all of Stationary as well. Thats more than half the store.. I was always under the impression that Stationary moved to Wednesdays because RTW was huge and they wanted to even it out at that time of year. But that is not the case. Wednesdays is always 3000-5000 tickets and every other day is only 1500 tickets at my store..

Wednesday is always the biggest day at my store too. Sometimes it has topped 6000+ before. It makes no sense because on Tuesday its always under 1000, usually between 300 and 500. It only takes one person a couple hours to finish it. I dont get why that day is soo small and Wednesday is so big.

PCs are the worst and I always seem to end up with a full tub of shoes every single time.
This is not best practice but if I notice what brands and styles of shoes are being priced changed out; I just go to locu and be done with it. Again not best practice!

Yes. Only like 400 on average at a B volume store here... So my TL piles us up on tuesday so we get most of Wednesdays workload done as well because we know the backroom is going to be huge.
