Can you request to only work morning shift as cashier or front end attendant?

You can, but approval is not guaranteed .

You could but don’t expect a lot of hours as a result - business needs are during the afternoons and evenings as well as weekends.

Maybe you should consider to be a GM who pushes the truck in the early mornings we start like at 5AM or 6AM then we leave around 1PM then you have the rest of the day for yourself even have enough time for another part time job if you’d like, sorry but other positions aren’t guaranteed approval unless you don’t care about how many hours you get per week.

At my store, you’re either approved for it and you get shit hours or you aren’t approved and you quit.
