    Look who's back!

I'm fairly happy at my store, at least for now. However, companywide reductions in payroll hours impair our best efforts to provide the service, products on shelves, and overall shopping experience which Americans see as the Target brand promise. Fancy way of saying: is the company being...

To Target - General Feedback About Anything

Drive-Up contributes tension and disruption to the guest experience for the shop-in-store guests. Once that (rhymes with) rammed 3-minute timer goes off, the Drive-Up TMs gotta make sure that everything was prepped properly and in the three-tier, including cooler and frozen items, then get...

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

Sorry for my late reply, I don't log into this forum frequently. I'm beyond jaw-dropping stunned at what you are saying. Using kind language, I can't comprehend the logic. This is a remote guess on my part, and if this is true they won't tell you, but maybe at some point the District manager or...

MEGATHREAD Target shares tumble as retailer picks new CEO, says sales fell again

That's been my impression as well. Personally, I've actually made some effort to follow the 10-4 guidelines and it has probably helped our guests enjoy shopping here a bit. However, there are certain tasks such as Drive-Ups (which involve multiple steps and which are strictly timed) where it...

    20 year service reward

That's the correct amounts. When I received mine, they "grossed up" the amount to cover taxes so your net was the bonus face value.

will i get in big trouble for calling out on black friday?

Respectfully, I think this is a concern. Presumably you don't normally have a 2.5 hour commute to your Target, you drove 2.5 hours away for Thanksgiving holiday with loved ones and underestimated the risk of severe weather for your return trip last night or early this morning. Your safety is...

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

Reshop is getting to be a huge problem at our store. Big, big problem. The holding room behind the service desk is becoming a safety hazard. Many of us find our hours trimmed down, yet they still are hiring newbies TMs. Fulfillment team members come and go, many items aren't placed in the...

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

Trusted friend told me their Target recently lacked a cash office closer and the next morning (due to a call-out of a well trained TM) no cash office opener. It seems like there are very few cash office backups. Told this is not common but it's alarming.

I wonder if the huge amount of money the company spent on their Target Together shindig the other day in Minneapolis could have been allocated to more payroll hours in stores.

    Attendance Point System

It could be used to provide more "evidence" of less-than-flawless TM performance, great way to justify reducing those cost-of-living "raises" (aka "merit" raises).

    How Target has fallen...

Sears was America's largest retailer by sales volume, and K-Mart was America's second largest retailer by sales, until 1990 when both were overtaken by Walmart. We all know what happened to Sears and K-Mart. American retailing is littered with carcasses of the deceased. One hopes this doesn't...

    Time and a half

The changes apply to the tiny number of people eligible for Labor Day as a "Paid Holiday". The vast majority of Target Store TMs only receive two Paid Holidays a year: Thanksgiving and Christmas. Grade 35 people aren't as good or valuable as the higher-ups, so they don't deserve more Paid...

Possibly it's worth talking to folks at another Target in your area. While I caution about the "greener pastures" syndrome, perhaps a different Target store with a different SD and ETLs would value your skill and talents more than the store you are currently working at.

MEGATHREAD Target shares tumble as retailer picks new CEO, says sales fell again

Here's a very useful quote from the WSJ story itself: Methinks this has been a huge problem that is seldom discussed. Drive-up orders sometimes arrive without advance notification, leading to a frantic scramble by a TM to pull the items from various shelves (and sometimes at a remote location...
