    Starbucks Team Leaders

Hey there, so I’m still pretty new to Starbucks, just opened it recently. But as we did our holiday transition they sent me five menu board signs that were all the same... how do I get the right menu boards?

    Target tech problems

They leave early all the time, early being two hours before they’re supposed to. Shop when they’re supposed to be working, take their lunches at the same time and show up late. Overall attendance. I get guest complaints because they mess up plans and phones and I’ve had gotten complaints the...

    Target tech problems

I’m having troubles with target mobile and don’t quite know what to do. The person I’m having trouble with most is the mobile lead. I’ve reached out to their district leader but the problem is they’re pretty much best friends and nothing comes of it. What else can I do?

    Archived Demoting?

Stl just denied educational loa and demotion. So I’m not so sure why options get so limited and it feels like you’re forced out to quit. Isn’t target supposed to care about their team and their well-being and not just their business? I’ve seen good stls and I just wish mine was one of them.

    Archived Demoting?

Why is that a thing? What if the person loses passion for it and realizes that. I feel like that gives them little options.

    Archived Demoting?

The stl pretty much refused to let the person step down without some kind of medical paper saying they aren’t capable of doing their job and that was the first I heard of it which seemed really strange

    Archived Demoting?

Maybe? The person isn’t on a corrective action or anything like that but they asked to demote and they were told team leaders couldn’t demote anymore unless physical disability.

Does anyone know if the process for demotion has changed?

Archived How to coach TM for tasks not getting done bc they were helping customers

Like I said it mostly works with my top performers because realistically they do their jobs everyday and they know how long it’ll take them. I don’t let them get carried away with ridiculous times (1 cart of push or go backs an hour). But ultimately I know if they worked hard and made the effort...

Archived How to coach TM for tasks not getting done bc they were helping customers

Something I do that I find works well with my top performers is I actually ask them. For instance, “hey Steve how long until you’re done with that go back cart/zone/push?” This lets the team member set their own expectations rather than you giving them timelines. So in turn to whatever their...

    Archived Thinking of leaving?

Well don’t get me wrong I’m confident with what I do and my leadership skills, I guess I’m just trying to figure out where these skills translate to best other than retail management jobs, and where’s a good starting point. I’ve applied to places like General Atomics but I’m trying to stay away...

    Archived Thinking of leaving?

I would love to move up to etl but sadly I don’t feel like my leadership really cares except for one person who wants me to do it. We even got a new dtl and he doesn’t care for tls at all. So it’s harder for me to keep putting myself out there to promote and get nothing in return at all. Then my...

    Archived Thinking of leaving?

I’m thinking of pursuing work outside of Target but I don’t know where to start or how my experience translates to anything but retail. I’m a senior TL now any tips?

    Archived Spider wraps

Spider wraps! How do you keep them untangled? We always wind them up, but some only tighten so much that it still gives room for others to get tangled in. Is there a better way to do it?

    Archived Bullseye's playground

My store is so bent on sales floor owning it that they won't allow any cashier or front end team member to touch it. Which I can understand at peak times but there's a lot of down time too where they could help a little. I can't seem to find any solution around it. The most I'll get is two...

    Archived Bullseye's playground

So I've tried reaching out to other stores and am stuck when it comes to bullseye being a sales floor responsibility, but how do you guys maintain or make it at least presentable. I feel like ours never gets touched and then it adds up so much it just becomes impossible.

    Archived Dental

Ok so I'm pretty lost on how benefits work. I have the target enhanced dental and I'm wondering how to figure out coverage. Last time I called and they said they'd cover a certain amount and I got stuck with paying the entire bill. Is there a way to figure out what's not covered? I went in and...

Archived Going to a Meet&Greet/Interview for Store Transfer, Advice?

I feel like these stores give a little more exposure to team leads. I hear most execs talking about them and I feel that most district would be in them, seeing as they're new stores. Gives the seniors more of a chance to shine rather than the execs walking the visits and taking the credit. But...

Archived Going to a Meet&Greet/Interview for Store Transfer, Advice?

I'm a senior and also interested in going to a flex store and I've told my stl this. What's the max raise typically you can negotiate? Or if there's any seniors from a flex store already in California that might have some input about pay? My stl said the max raise would be around 20% but I'm...

    Archived Managing

Sorry for the late reply! But I have stationary, kitchen, pets, chemical, hba, cosmetics, toys, sporting goods, electronics, and seasonal. Seems like a lot. But four big blocks. I try and leverage my electronics team to help with two blocks though. I also help run the unload process once or...
