So you have to do K3 + K1 + K8 to reset the Card Readers because it forces it to pop up a screen when you have to type in the Card Number. Once the Register pops up with that screen you can back out to the main payment screen and the register will once again allow you to use the card.

I don't MySupport often because I can fix everything wrong with the registers myself most of the time. Card Readers you have to MySupport because you can no longer send them back and ask for a new one. Obviously registers start slowly decaying and their catalina printers and receipt printers...

You can dismantle the card reader and then put it back together to make sure all the connections are properly working while the register is shut down. Once that's done reboot the register and it should fix your problems. If it shows back up then its time to MySupport it.

Here's a work around that should work almost 100% of the time: Get the payment screen, hit K3 (Credit), then K1 (All of it), and then K8 (Key Credit Card Number). Once it resets the Card Reader and pops up with the Key Credit Card screen just back out to the payment screen. This fixes most Card...

As far as I'm aware that's a Version 43 bug. It happens most often at Guest Service registers for obvious reasons.

Yea, its absurd how slow V45 is. Also a relatively new issue. On this note, this could be solved relatively easily. A lot of it has to do with how the registers handle data which is absurdly old. And moving to a cloud-based network would take the load off. Our current registers nor POS...

Here we are, or I guess, here I am. Basically a year later. If you don't remember me, I posted a beautiful guide to the introduction to Version 43 back in July last year as Chip Cards were being rolled out. Now we are Version 45.120, the latest release in the failure for Target to unify its...

Try using it until it goes into the red area - go to lunch and come back you will have half battery. Yes I know what you are talking about as if you had a battery pack on your personal iPod but it does idly charge it when the device is in sleep mode.

Well if there is no Service Desk person than that isn't an issue. We don't get our SD person until 9am or 10am each day anyways. Closing Guest Service at 9PM seems like a silly move when it's not that hard to walk the lanes and peek over at the SD every couple of minutes.

Shutting down GS that early can hurt the vibe and I wouldnt recommend. You can easily do GSA duties while covering GS it's not that difficult especially at night.

Yes. So always check the item amount and price :) You have Card Reload and the basic Fix It Quick functions. My cashiers have never had time for that so its not a huge issue.

The scanner doubles as a battery pack. I had the same problems with them and we have had these myDevices for more than a year.
