    Archived Your STL.

My STL is always on the floor, and she does a great job about having the ETLs do work on the floor. No one sits in the office or TSC when she's in the building.

Archived *POLL*: Do you have "supervisor access"?

I have supervisor access as soon as I became the Hardlines TL.

    Archived Moving up in leadership

This is what got me thinking. I thought about how I can keep my work center green as well. I do have a solid team on the floor which is great. What catches my attention is how they'd do when my responsibilities are turned elsewhere. SrTL is a position I'd want to use as a stepping stone but...

    Archived Moving up in leadership

I thought about shooting straight to ETL, and at the same time, going from senior to ETL would make me more comfortable running LOD shifts. My STL also treats her SrTLs pretty good too. I am been green in my work center, and have been able to maintain it. I have a pretty good relationship with...

    Archived Moving up in leadership

Hi all! I was wondering, what would be the path to become ETL? I've been working at the spot for almost 9 months now. I started off as a team member and shortly, I was promoted to team lead. I've been in role as a team lead for a few months now. I also have a good relationship with my STL and...

Archived So how does your store schedule team leads?

I typically get scheduled under my work center. So these last couple of weeks because of sales, my hours got cut. I had 30 hours this week and last week just under Hardlines. The ETL-Log, added me in for Presentation so I could get more hours. The ETL-Log at my store is kick ass!

The cosmetics one at my store is just the same. And her boss is even worse.

    Archived Vendors....

After reading through the posts, I have to say the American greeting Lady is by far the best one. Even at my store, she does her own thing and is nice. Keep it going guys! The stories are great to read!

    Archived Vendors....

Getting decaffed is a good one! Props to you! I don't know what work center you're from, but you're amazing for doing that. I'm a TL and I approve of this because vendors are cray.

    Archived Vendors....

So vendors come through often, and I also find the majority of them annoying or just have a horrible attitude. It's like whenever one comes in I'm like "Oh god, another one is here." If any of you have any stories about vendors or so, feel free to share!

Archived What to do if a guest stops you on your lunch?

Guest: "Excuse me, do you work here?" Me: "No, I am just wearing red and Khaki." I have days where I want to just say that. I have equipment on me, my NAME TAG and I am talking through the walkie often. Should be obvious! Questions like that makes me go WOW REALLY.

    Archived Tl reviews

I was told mine would get in the next pay check. And the weird part was, I got a couple of other raises before the review.

I got my TL review yesterday and got a small raise.

Archived How much of your perspective changed when you got promoted?

I have to agree with PaidToSmile on this, I stepped up as TL late last year and I do find myself just exhausted all the time as well. I get a sigh of relief when I have a reliable team and I have days where everything is just on my shoulders. Especially now with slashed hours, I find myself...

    Archived TL SELF REVIEWS

This would be my first time doing a self review as a TL, does anyone have an idea of how to approach it?

Great question, I have no idea how the front lanes were handling it. And gotta agree with Jenna, might have been one of the seasonal cashiers.

It's because they didn't read that they needed a coupon, I am target's store operator and I was not taking shit from people. I literally told her that she needed to read the fine print.

    Archived 40 percent off sleepwear

Yesterday was such a mess, guests in general just don't read the fine print! I had a large amount of guests trying to argue with me on the phone and in person about the 40 percent off deal. Well, if they read the fine print about the coupon, they'd get the deal!
