Archived Stupid things people have been fired for at your store?

TPS was caught...pleasuring himself...in the AP office. He was termed immediately and it took forever for anyone to get the true story of what happened to him out of store leadership, they were tight lipped about the whole thing. He was a creep, I wasn't surprised.

Archived what would happen if your lod locked you in the store

STL did this on his very first close in my store, with not just one, but TWO TMs. He's a dumbass. I think the story went that somehow the cops drove by the store and the TMs caught their attention to help let them out? I don't remember the specifics.

    Archived Self-Checkouts

If they ever implemented these at my former store (I'm a former TM), I guarantee you they wouldn't bother staffing anyone to run them and would expect the poor GSA (who surely has a line going out to girls for returns and checkouts) to go over to the SCO lanes to resolve any assistance needed...

Archived Do you guys ever feel stressed out about zoning?

I definitely did feel stressed, but those days dated back to when I first started there and wanted to do a good job and impress the LODs. And that was back when the LODs were worth impressing and working hard for. Once I made a name for myself and they knew I was an expert zoner and knew what I...

    Archived First time working mornings

If you've only been closing, you'll find that you won't recognize a lot of the people working during the morning. I remember the first time I worked earlier in the day after being there a month or two just closing - I didn't know a soul! If you're just doing reshop or zoning, you probably won't...

    Archived Stores closing???

There's a former Greatland about 25 minutes away from me and I know it was built sometime in 2001 or 2002, so they were definitely still being built after 1999. Really cool to shop in one and see how much bigger they are than the standard stores.

MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

No one EVER pays attention to the aisle description labels or the outrigger signs in my store, there are so many mislabeled aisles. I wouldn't be surprised if they left all of them up.

Fun isn't quite the word I'd use to describe a smart huddle...

Archived The Big & Dandy Plano thread!

I'm not gonna lie I'd totally use one of those if I set pogs regularly, I lose track of my counting sometimes and it'd be nice to have it laid out in front of me. I think my store has some in the fixture room but I've never seen anyone use one.

    Archived Red & Denim

We were allowed to wear jeans one day last year during the jean promotion week...I recall us having to have donated something in order to participate though. There wasn't a stipulation on the brand thankfully, as I do not own any Target brand jeans, lol.

    Archived Snakes in the grass

I imagine every store is like high school, gossip and cliques abound. No one trusts anyone in my store, it's pretty bad. What I've learned is that you have to watch what you say and who you say it to, because it can wind up anywhere, even if they didn't intend for it to.

Archived Why are you still with spot?

Despite the many frustrations and annoyances, I stayed because a) so many of my friends were there b) it worked with school/my schedule/availability and c) I'm damn good at my job. I don't enjoy retail, but something about the action of it all always interested me. Now that I've gotten my...

Archived Orientation: Are You The Only One Left?

I'm fairly certain there is one flow TM left from my orientation, but I don't work mornings so I don't know for sure. There were maybe like 5 or 6 others at mine. Soon he'll be the sole survivor, my time with Spot is up. :)

Archived What call button do you cringe at the most?

I do the same thing, press that button all you want, but unless the GSA/service desk calls, I'm staying put.

Archived What call button do you cringe at the most?

Whenever I hear the furniture one go off, I pray there is someone close by to handle it because I know it's going to involve a flatbed/team lifts/carry outs and things I don't feel like dealing with. Same for seasonal during the summer months, but usually electronics can handle that.

    Archived Back to school

Luckily for my store's backroom TMs, our stationery and seasonal aisles (don't pay attention to the fill group names) are right across from each other, give or take a few aisles.

    Archived POG Batches & Research

I've seen things be clearance, ticketed and all, switch back to active. It's always fun to take the tickets off them. If a revision doesn't come along to replace a dcode item, I usually see that item become active again at some point.

    Archived CVS Pharmacy @ Target

I am shocked. There's so many things they could possibly alter by implementing this, I wonder if they'll change the pharmacy hours at all? Money wise I suppose it's a smart move for Target, but I don't think it'll be a good look overall. I feel for the pharmacy TMs who are surely getting flooded...

Archived Guests who try on Make-Up...

Recently, as I saw a kid opening up a bottle of nail polish, about to put some on her nails, I quickly snapped, "do not open that" at her and she put it down. Generally I ignore guests who try anything out, outside of giving them a disapproving glare. I've found that it's not worth the effort. I...
