Archived GSA schedule rotation very unfair

Lol tell them that and you'll never open again. I wouldn't really do it though unless you desperately need to because of family obligations or something. Even I as a self-professed night owl would've rather opened every day hands down.

Speaking of spotty push this week (our first mytime generated schedule week), our old guy never showed up front, not sure if he called out or was assigned somewhere else (I know they're trying to do FDC push same day now too), but it took us until Tuesday night to finish pushing one spot from...

I have to imagine that you're trolling. If you're not, your store sure sounds mightily dysfunctional. I don't know which guest service TM pulled your pigtails on the playground when you were 6, but you seem to be working out some pent-up angst against the front end here, when none of us work at...

RG, I know that feels. For some reason almost nobody except the GSAs and a few of the long term cashiers knows how to process WIC checks at my store. There was a period where every single time I went on break or lunch I'd instantly have someone show up with a WIC check on a lane and get called...

Stop pushing Redcards down peoples throats so fucking much. Stop pushing Redcards down peoples throats so fucking much. Stop pushing Redcards down peoples throats so fucking much. They're not a worthless product but they're far from the panacea they're pushed as, and goals have gone up by an...

    Archived gstl breaks

What I do is I don't ask questions, I dictate. "LOD this is Cel, I'm taking my first 15 as scheduled (thanks mytime!), Joe (GSTM) has the front" "LOD this is Cel, I'm taking my meal as scheduled, Bob (cashier) has a walkie up here if he needs assistance, thanks" Doesn't leave any wiggle room...

Yeah, I just forgot the dollar spot things, we get the same crap at my store as well. Usually we have an older guy who does the spotty push, but if he's on vacation or calls out they just leave carts near the bathing suits in softlines and expect us to do it. We just have the photo kiosk, which...

Having done both jobs at my store (never officially held the title of PA but according to the PA who essentially runs our department on a day to day and week to week basis and stepped up to replace our CTL when he took medical leave, I did everything she did as well as she did), PA in my...

So much this. It irks me particularly about how other TMs and such tend to look down on cashiers because "their job is so easy." I've even heard TLs do it. Yeah, you can teach someone how to run a register pretty quickly, but the job itself is ridiculously fast paced at times, high stress, and...

    Archived RedCards and Corrective Action

I've had my Sr GSTL and various other LODs tell me to stand behind cashiers (either openly or just zone next to them all shift) and listen to them, and report them for coaching if they weren't asking every guest... God I hate this place and the people that run it sometimes - was the only...

Team Leader - Cleaning Crew. I dunno. Our SFT is a great guy, I'd do anything he asked me to, and our store would literally fall down around our ears if it wasn't for him (particularly up front. Broken doors, dirty store, smelly carpet spills, graffiti in the bathrooms, broken register equipment...

    Archived Trying to move up

Depends on the position. Flow TL or Backroom TLs (In my experience anyway) rarely if ever work nights/weekends. GSTLs, Sbux TLs, Sales floor TLs, CTLs, etc. on the other hand tend to work a lot more varied schedules.

I want to promote but the stress is literally eating me alive. Unfortunately at my sh*t-volume store, we've lost TLs but that only played into AE14. We're still 1 over headcount, so it's a long game of waiting.

    Archived GSA

Barcode and paidtosmile have good advice here. What the job is like and some ways to stand out will be pretty different depending on what volume of store you're working at, because the scope of your responsibilities and the course of your day will be vastly different at a ULV like a few of us...

Archived My TL resigned and their position has not been filled. I think I'd do a great job.

What does starting college have to do with whether or not you qualify for consideration? Also keep in mind that TL positions are the killer of degrees, it's hard to work 40 hours a week at a stressful job and be a full-time student.

    Archived Flow Huddle

your GSAs/GSTLs get to go to huddle? I don't think I've been to a single morning or evening huddle while scheduled up front except the one time they did smart huddle at guest services so they could push the heaping carts of go-backs.
