    Question Regarding Reasonable Accommodation

I have a medical condition and need accommodation. Everything that has been done so far has been documented on my part, either through email or voice recording (one-party state). I don't like to do things verbally, as words get lost in the air and/or people "recall" what was said. I asked...

    Lifting After Surgery

I might need to have surgery, and it would mean lifting restrictions. I'm wondering how others have coped. Have you had surgery, taken leave to recuperate, and then returned to Target? How was it for you?

    Mobility aids at work

Does anyone here have any experience, even just temporary, with using mobility aids at work? It's been a few years since I had a job, and I'm looking to change that in a few months or so. For various reasons, retail is going to be the easiest thing for me to start with. I don't know if I'll be...

    Animals in the Store

What is your store's policy on bringing animals to Target? Guests don't even bother to state they are "service animals" because Target never says anything anyway. This is a health code violation because we serve and sell food. I never see this at my local Kroger, Meijer, etc.

How does Target handle work restrictions?

I gave Target a doctor's note stating I can not work under certain conditions. What will probably happen next? I gave it HR not my TL because HR supposedly does all scheduling though that answer changes weekly.

    ADA accommodations ?

So my store has always been pretty good about working with me in regards to my Cerebral Palsy. I have worked the lanes before, but it became more and more unsafe for me to do because I have balance issues, so I asked to be moved to SCO. However, due to the pandemic, my leads thought it best that...

Customer Service For People With Disabilities

Here is some information on how to provide good customer service to people with disabilities. A couple of bits of house cleaning first. Disabilities aren’t always obvious. The person using a wheelchair, a guide dog, or an ASL interpreter are easy to spot. However, someone with an extreme...

Managed By A Person With A Disability?

Heyo! I’m new to Target but I’ve been in retail for years. Including some management stunts. In the last few years I’ve gradually lost my hearing, but manage pretty ok with hearing aids. My goal is to get into leadership, but of course, my hearing loss saps my confidence at times. Have any of...

Modernization's effect on those with disabilities and/or work restrictions

I'm curious as to whether or not modernization has affected those with disabilities and/or work restrictions. What kind of accommodations are possible with the requirement that tm's are responsible for their work end to end?

MODERATED AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA)

This in no way serves as advice or suggestions on the part of The Break Room. We would hope that when it comes to your job and your disability you would be smarter than using a website like ours to make important decisions. Call your local DVR or the AAOC, talk to them before you make major...

Archived Thoughts on pregnant parking spots

My store has 2 expectant mothers parking spots. Do you think it's necessary? Should there be ones for law enforcement/veterans too?
