Archived Advice for new Starbucks TM?

A friend of a friend was recently given a SBTM position. Anyone have any advice I can pass on to her?

While I'm not a SBTL, there are a few around the forum who can answer a little better than I.
Where you a SBTM before promoting? If so, for how long?
With any leader, a good way to gain your team's trust & respect is to:
Do what you say & say what you do
Never assume
Don't ask them to do anything you yourself wouldn't do
Lead by example
and always know what's in your walk-in.

There's a few threads around regarding TL duties, opening/closing protocols & making drinks.
I can only speak from observing my TL (he's also a TL trainer so he's good) but he believes very much in leading by example.

If this doesn't work, just go to the Wiki tab at the top of the forum. You should be logged in automatically, but if you're not, your login info is the same as for the forum. Then use the search bar to search for Starbucks or go to the Workcenters page.
