AE has been going on for a few years. Basically they achieve excellence by cutting positions to make more profit. Biggest impact was in '09 when they completely eliminated the specialist position which was seen as a stepping stone between TM and TL. As a CTL I believe you have nothing to worry about in the next few years as it is an important position in the store (food safety and such).
 
I'm newer with spot so don't quite get the whole ae thing
Every yr spot rolls out "Achieving Excellence", designed to reflect the company's adaptation to current needs/trends through changes in stores' hierarchy. For the most part, it results in elimination of TL/ETL slots while combining departments & slashing payroll.
Every spot veteran here can tell you stories of AE's effects.
 
Honestly, I feel like there won't be any changes in my store. Our leadership team is really close-knit, so I can't see anyone having to change positions. They'll probably just not replace the position when the people leave.
 
Wait...you all have someone to run the store while the LODs have their meeting?! I'm jealous...at our store, they all go into the meeting, the actual LOD for the time turns their Walkie down low enough to hear what's going on and tell us that they can't respond when we call for them. The store sort of runs itself and all hell generally breaks loose for a couple of hours while some people work and others ignore the calls for back up/assistance.
 
Why not have the meeting before the store is opened maybe at 6am? Or would that be too easy?
 
I think this mandatory meeting on Tuesday is going to be an eye-opener for a lot of people...
 
For the most part it is probably eliminating positions we already eliminated as a ulv. Down side is with the store closing it is going to make it interesting at the stores they transfer people to.
 
Updated AE14/Org. Charts

I know there has already been a ton of threads and questions about AE14 so i'm not trying to beat a dead horse. I know today and tomorrow we are going to be having ETL/TL meetings about revised AE14 plans,financials, reviews, and which positions are being cut. Hopefully I will know more information to post by 5pm. If anyone else gets info before me lets please spread the wealth.
Also, lets not bombard this thread with questions to post AE14 plans. As soon as we find out the info i'm 100% positive we will be on here letting everyone know what we have discovered today at Planet Red.

I know all the details as far as for my stores specific org chart. So i cant really provide much info pertaining to other stores. I can confirm that the speculation of the positions being cut are correct.
 
I can confirm sofar Org 1 loses CTL, merges softlines and hardlines TL into salesfloor TL, as a result ETL-Salesfloor. Also HRTLs have been removed. Org 2 loses RXTL. Still lots of details missing.

And that's not all org 1 loses...
 
While no one is leaving my store we are not backfilling the next ETL to leave and not filling our vacant gstl position. Price accuracy will now report to our ETL log and at a date to be determined we are combining sl/GE/hl. Result of my low volume Monday meeting. Least hr ordered the store pizza...
