Anyone here work in a "Code 9" Store? That's the term I know them by and my ETL-Log referes to them as when we talk about his old store but I am not sure if this is proper. I have never worked in one but have heard the security there is much greater. My ETL-Log had his old store robbed 3 times in a years period.

Code 9- A store with a high probability of crimes and robbery.

My store was the total opposite. Thank god... No way I'd GSA and push that cash cart around if my store was in the ghetto lol.

If that code is true, I work in code 9 store :D lol

Does your store have high security precautions?

What my ETL-Log told me about the store he worked at is that the CO had a "mantrap" which is a door, then a small room, then another door, then the CO which my store does. But the only difference is that in the CO in a "code 9" store theres a button to lock the person in that room incase of a robbery attempt. He also said the LOD would always carry a company phone with 911 on speed dial and for the closing GSTL/GSA AP would escort. Not my idea of a healthy work environment...

Wow! Well if I had a TPS follow me around it wouldn't be quite as bad ;)

I wasn't a "Code 9" store, but I did work in an Urban district. I live in a major city in the Northeastern US, and every store in my district, plus the two surrounding it have man-traps.

When I transferred to one of those outlying districts, 239 was unusually far from the lanes. I always had a TPS walk with me at night. It was nice having someone to talk to!

Havent been in a "code 9" store, was offered a SR TL position at another store a few years ago and was told becareful when you get onto the team. Apparently high gang activity and some scary guys there. Was told TL's that have coached people and written people up were harrassed and threatened even after the store got involved with the cops and everything. I just laughed and asked my ETL what the hell I did to piss him off.

Our entrance to 239 is referred to as the "mantrap," but I don't know if we have the locking feature. We're not in a ghetto area - just a busy suburban shopping plaza. I haven't heard of AP escorting our GSTL/GSAs before, though one GSTL asked me to walk with her to electronics because we didn't have AP that night.

We only have one person in our AP area. Our crime is low enough that the sensors by the doors are almost never turned "on."

Sounds like this name is derived from Zone 9, which is the custom block for security items when pushing the truck (expensive electronics, etc)

I've only heard them referred to as high-risk stores.
