I've been waiting for this link....like we didn't know it was coming. 😂
I posted this link in my original message as well? I know I was long-winded...it’s at the bottom of my message under the poll/survey.

I was pretty open and explicit about my intentions? I included links in my original post about a petition I started at my store along with the petition from TWU.

I'd like to see that TMs get written up for not wearing their mask properly. Our managers are fine, but there are a few TMs who they just ignore.

As far as GS and the backroom, has there been any spread in those areas in stores where TMs are wearing their masks correctly? There has not been spread in my store, in those areas. We did have spread in one other area, but it was because TMs were not wearing masks when no one was watching them.
Our store is actually 100% mask on. No mask on without a valid exception and write up.

Hello all! I want to encourage you to check out the demands from Target Workers Unite! I am not advocating for a union, but collaboration from team members at the store level to get involved and help demand safer conditions as the pandemic continues and our country is still being hit hard by the virus. Please have a look at the link below! And feel free to share thoughts on the demands.

Is that site sponsored by The Onion?

When asked if you're associated with any groups you said:
I actually don't work for a union, nor am advocating for one. I came up with the demands in my petition on my own actually.
But at the end of your link there it says:

All personal information provided will remain confidential to Target Workers Unite

So are you or are you not associated with them?

Yeah too bad Tarshit would absolute do nothing said on this list. They wouldn't give two fucks because they could just get other people who are in need of jobs to take the job instead. Why do anything good if that costs money. Remember these are the same corporate bastards who decided it was a good idea to make almost every person part time team members so they wouldn't have to pay insurance.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that the script this account is following does not allow for full disclosure.

my guess is that they are affiliated with:
  1. a socialist orginization
  2. a communist orginization
  3. a union
  4. a group linked to the Black Bloc[1]
[1] a stretch but the goals do appear to align again a stretch but the possibility remains

I'm actually interested to see if target starts metering customers again. It gets so busy and crowded at noon to night.

All this rights, rights nonsense is nauseating. In a small business, mine for example, you have no rights asshole, you don't do what I say you are OUT. Period. Large corps don't work this way, my way and never will. Stay out of gyms for awhile, the money grubbing franchisers care about only one thing. It is up to you to protect yourself.

Here are some true facts about what organizing is like in my area.

New hires in union positions START at $12 a hour for directly comparable jobs to our $15 a hour. New TL positions are very few and very far between. We have about 2 to 3 a store at Target yearly while comparable stores have less than one a year. Union healthcare premiums are lower but the deductibles and OOP max are significantly higher; if you are healthy union gets the win but if you have chronic conditions, your costs are significantly higher.

Unions create an extremely adversarial relationship between the employer and the hourly employee. They are excessively toxic. Managers are seen as an enemy no matter the situation, and teams are OFTEN extremely resistant to any change. There is no leeway for managers, if you discipline one person you must discipline everyone no matter the cost. Do you know what it's like to be forced to fire an abused mom of 5 because the child's father will not watch him if he's sick and she's called out too much but doesn't qualify for FMLA? Because if you don't, you can't fire Johnny the 21 year old who calls in hungover twice a week and his five buddies?

Unions have a place but it's not in retail. Retail is not a skilled trade. If you don't like capitalism stop buying from businesses on the stock market.
Then why do unions work well for grocery stores?

If anyone voted with a "Yes!" or "I'm nervous..." feel free to message me directly on here and we can exchange contact information and chat more about what we can do!! 🙌⭐🌈💚
My car warranty keeps calling me. They are dying to talk to me. How about I give them your number....

I didn't think about that at first, but "they" did ask my location when "they" sent me a private message.
that's when you tell them you work at the motherstore Roseville, MN. or what ever goofy number they give the mini target in the actual HQ building.

I have no gripes with Target regarding the lack of precautions. In fact, I think they have gone overboard. It irritates me that all too often we lack basic coverage for things like having a cashier or somebody to do drive-up because we are spending an entire day's worth of payroll every day to have someone stand at the front to clean carts (which, until recently, was with glass cleaner, which does not kill bacteria -- I silently laughed to myself about that one) and have another person go around the store to clean everything but the bathrooms, which one the few front end advocates have to be pulled off the floor to do hour-by-hour. Guest comments whether verbally or through myguest echo this issue until the cows come home -- not enough help. Had to wait too long. Where's your cashiers?

So many retailers don't even do this -- all too often I just see a basket of paper towels and some spray sanitizer by their carts and you as a patron could help yourself to if you're so inclined. And line metering -- they just stick these $2.00 digital counters on the thresholds of each door, and presumably a team member goes by and checks it every so often. That system seems to work well.

I'm not asking for extra pay or extra precautions to be taken or any of that and if Target ever does unionize, I'm out. I just wish Target would get down to brass tacks and stop sacrificing the basics to create this perception through cleaning, because that's what it is. What good is a perception that the store is being wiped down when you have to spend 15-30 minutes trying to check out, return something or pick up an order? I know personally that I'd rather just take a cart that hasn't been wiped down, pull on a handle of a cooler that hasn't been swabbed to get my milk, and check out at a check lane that hasn't been sprayed down than to wait excessively, because I'll wash my hands and wipe my stuff down with bleach water when I get home because if we're being honest, all this cleaning we're doing isn't doing much.
