Sorry if this a repeat post. I’ve been with Target 25 years. I have a physical disability, Cerebral Palsy. I work under part-time. It’s been recommended I stay out of work until I receive the COVID vaccine. I’m on the covid 30 day leave then a small LOA. I know typically one is only allowed to be off approximately 180 days. Any suggestions?

I could be wrong, but I would assume the LOA limits are to keep people from keeping a spot on indefinite hold that could be filled with someone permanent. Since you know the conditions under which your LOA will end (when you can get the vaccine) but no control over when that actually happens, I would hope HR would work with you on any extensions if it takes that long.

Hopefully it doesn't! Good luck!

Check with your HR but the 180 days is usually for a personal unpaid LOA.

A medical LOA is different and can go on for a long time. If you call Leaves and Disability they should be able to tell you. Give yourself a lot of time because you could be on hold for over an hour.

They will work with you if they are able
