Let me explain the title, it seems like the Plano team at my store has a hard time putting out new releases on Friday's since to them it's not really a huge priority (understandable), so I was wondering if any stores had a Presentation Team Member who focused specifically in Electronics/Entertainment? Maybe did ad-set up on Sunday's as well. We have an Electronics Team Member who has a 4 hour Presentation shift on Tuesday's, primarily focusing on new releases, but that's about it.

We have a similar tm, he comes on Tuesdays (sometimes Mondays as well) and sets all the entertainment and electronics revisions each week

There are no electronics Plano tm. There are electronics tm who ask their leadership to take ownership of those jobs.
Did you find out, at your store?
Presentation of Tuesday but not Friday's?

We have a guy who comes in on Sunday's for ad set up and Tuesday's he does Plano for the new releases. Technically it's Plano's job to set the new POG's for music on Friday, and then the Electronics opener just has to know to pull the new releases for Nintendo since they were already set on Tuesday, just flexed over. I've come into an Electronics shift at 4pm on Friday to find the new CD end cap set, but completely empty with all the new music in a three tier in the electronics stockroom. I ask the LOD about it, they say, "Oh yeah, push it out to the floor." I guess it's just not a priority for them, nor did the Electronics opener for that day have any idea new stuff comes out on Friday, hence why one of our guys comes in on Tuesday. I guess I was just wondering if somebody could be a Plano Team Member who's in charge of Electronics specifically. They'd be more of a master of their domain than a Hardlines TL who has Electronics fall under their jurisdiction without knowing too much about it, and they would make sure that everything is set correctly, up-to-date, and on time. Then again i've never been trained in Presentation so I have no idea what i'm talking about, wishful thinking I guess.

Technically, the burden of department 108 revisions (entertainment new releases) falls on the electronics team. That's why they're a separate dept. from regular entertainment revisions. MyTime will automatically schedule a TM at 7am in electronics on Tuesday to support these revisions, even in ULV stores. Unfortunately most HR teams edit to bring in the elec. TM way later(sometimes even 9 o clock). My PPTL used to schedule an elec. TM monday and Tuesday from 4am - 11 to handle all entertainment revisions, until he was promoted. Now she has a revision day on Tuesdays, and throws in entertainment with it. So they blitz the dept. in less than 2 hours before store open.

At my store we still kinda have an entertainment specialist (even tho the position doesn't exist anymore)... but basically he is a regular electronic team member but he is the one who does all the revisions and street dates. They always schedule him to open and he never closes.. he also does the ad...

This may be ASANTS, because at my store the entertainment revisions are a part of plano's workload per the adjacency calandar. The workload associated with them is always at least 15 hours, I'm fairly sure my time is just scheduling an electronics tm that early on Tuesdays to make sure everything is pushed on time.

Someone at my store comes in early on Friday morning to take care of CDs.
The second shift and occasionally the first shift handle the new game releases.
I handle the book and movie revisions on Monday night into Tuesday morning instead of my usual overnight flow shift.

I hate ASANTS mentality. Bottom line is no matter who does the actual set everyone in the store whether it is Plano TM's or EE TM's we all own the core role "drive profitable sales." The EE TM's and other process team members including presentation are all the same paygrade. So which team member does the set should not matter if they are schedule to do it then you do it. What is important is the new releases are set, filled, and signed before opening on Tune in Tuesay and on the Friday music release day. Now the team leader in charge of EE should have involvement/collaboration with the PTL regarding all sets in EE and the electronics team should be buisness owners of their area to drive more sales in this part of our store buisness which has small profit margins. My old store's EE team are rock stars at owning and being involved in anything going on in their departments, my current store there is no involvement.

Now to elaborate a tad more myTime DOES allocate the hours for Plano to set the dept 059 and 058 revisions but it DOES NOT CONSISTENTLY for 108 which falls under sales floor. This is explained in the best practice for setting transitions. In short due to the revisions for new releases changing at the last minute the true time it takes to set the 108 pogs is not updated accurately/consistently in the adjacency calendar till after the schedule posts for the week of a set. Stores are to take an average amount of hours it takes to set 108 and add it manually into mytime on Mondays when forecasting to ensure accurate coverage to execute workload however it is up to the forecaster to do this. Mytime automatically schedules the opener on Tuesday an hour early (based on the team's availability) but that is not always enough time to execute all the 108 and new release checklane pogs. In my store plano absorbs the 108 pogs with no extra hours added. It works better I have found to have the Plano team blitz the entertainment sets this way it's complete before opening and if we are missing the new releases we have time to hunt them down in the stockroom or from the truck push.

This week there is a new rollout "enhancements" for MyTime which is supposed to streamline the schedule even more. So brace yourself for bumpy execution and be prepared to adjust to whatever hiccups this update causes.

You're right, entertainment revisions are a part of the plano workload. Department 108 (new releases) is not.

Me. I'm the Signing TM for Plano, but I'm only part-time. So I do ad set on Sundays (5-9), all of the entertainment revisions on Monday (6-2:30), fill and sign new releases on Tuesday from 6-8 am, and then I either do Signing or set POGs or revisions for the remainder of my shift on Tuesday. Some weeks I also work Wednesdays and set POGs or revisions. Friday new releases are done by another girl on POG. I think we're an ULV store.

My store handles it like this: Our Presentation team gives an electronics TM hours on Monday night, closing, to handle all department 108 for the week. The TM (me) comes in and sets the pogs and fills them, using the remainder of anytime to complete D207 revisions for the week as well, to set any ridiculousness (check lane DVD shippers/random PvZ2 endcaps/check lane NR endcap etc), back stock anything that went NOP during the set depending on what's needed that week. The TM then helps out wherever they're needed until near store close where they begin to push product to the floor. I usually wait until we start doing closing announcements and start with low anticipated product first. So for example, tonight Star Wars won't be touching the shelves until after we're locked up and electronics is cleared of guests, but random Book A that releases will technically be on shelf for a few minutes before we close. Another plano TM comes in overnight, and sets the remainder of Entertainment.

D012 is handled by the Thursday morning electronics TM. We set the browser and new release, flex NR by price point, and the closing TM fills it after close.

Ad set is handled by another TM for the week, and I set the new release signage/ads as I work.

Back when we had an entertainment brand TM, he was responsible for new releases and entertainment revisions. Now the plano team owns them; one person handles the entertainment workload while the rest of the team works on whatever is being set that week.
