MEGATHREAD Hang Me (The Softlines Thread)

i definitely don't take the ONE MONTH BREAK we get from bathing suits every year for granted. there is no escape. i'm mentally preparing myself.

I noticed swim coming off our last few trucks. TL said its on the next RTW adjacency after Christmas. Seriously? We're not in the South or California or anything like that. I don't get it.
Ffs, we just got rid of the last remaining swim clearance last week.

Lol... I hear that question from the newbies every year. My first year I didn't think it was possible that that many people were in need of swimsuits in the winter. People here buy like 71 swimsuits for each trip, though.

So, when my tl mentioned the intimates thing, she was all "they're looking for a brand tm for intimates and I mentioned your name... idk if you're gonna get the extra quarter or not..."

And it didn't sound concrete, or anything. So, what actually ended up happening is they did the thing they did to me last year. They're scheduling me in the department to zone. So I'm under softlines, but INT is noted on the schedules. I don't get any extra money or any extra hours. I guess I'm fine with it. I actually like zoning in sl and find it kinda therapeutic, but why even bring up the possibility of a quarter if you're unsure? That's the part that bugs me. If she never said anything, I would've just been all lalalala zoning PJs lalala... just coasting through. But now all I can think about is the quarter lol. It's only like $5 (based on my avg) so idk why I'm so annoyed

I wish we had brand tms :( I think I'd like to actually get to take responsibility for making sure an area looks good. I'm forever trying to superzone cause I can't stand the mess and how hard it is for me and the other tms to find stuff when we work SFS. But a lot our SL team doesn't care or is too new to know how to do things, etc.

I heard today that a new girl (like maybe 3 months in) is probably gonna be the new baby brand TM. I'm dusting off my resume now. My newish etl has such a hard on for the young people who are in school. I'm convinced she feels like a stronger leader to people who are younger than she is. I just started noticing that. Before I noticed it, I thought she was doing well... Well, I actually still do despite the favoritism somehow.

I'm a brand TM in our store... I get full time hours more than not because I'm trained in just about everything there is to do. One of our TLs is a SRTL so we lose her to LOD shifts which means I end up helping the other TL keep things in order when she's not able to be around. I started out as a Shoe Specialist...not that Specialists exist any more. I like the variety of work and personally I HATE zoning...not that I get away from it entirely but being so multi-versed sure helps. Our store tends to use VML hours for brand work because the work being done is part of the visual outlook of the store. That way we are able to save SL hours to make sure the floor is covered for reshop and zoning.

We have corners of our FR that we park carts but we never have unsorted reshop now. Ops finish their work pretty consistently these days. I remember a time when we used to hide fifteen or twenty carts in the spare truck when we had visits but we haven't had to do that in over a year and a half now. IMHO 4th Quarter got here too fast.... ><

Anyone else running extremely light? My TL told me we need to bring down swimsuits and put them up this week because we've sold through so much product.

Lmao, I had to help my tl put them out this past Wednesday. And we got shopped so hard today girls is basically down to just clearance and leggings.

Twelve POGs sent to the backroom today for SL and only one stack of shirts and a couple of boxes for C&J to show for it. >< Wheeeeee..... time to fudge sets and make it work. :p

Yesterday, TL wanted me to set 2 stepdowns in shoes. Three boxes came out of the backroom, so I'm like yay we have product! Come to find out they were shoes we already had on the floor. Wound up flexing. And for adjacencies, why bother following the book? Half the product is not in the store!

We all know it's gonna come in quick like the pajamas though. When we set Cat and Jack we had wayyy to much backstock. I think that's half the clearance problem for my store.

Clearance has never looked better at my store and Xhilaration and swim is staying branded. We have been really focusing on good zones and its really paying off. I'm moving to Cosmetics in about a week, though I'll still be in Softlines intermittently.

Some of the softlines team is deep zoning, looking for missed salvage from the winter/spring reset. Curious if anyone's used the RFID scanners for this and how effective it was?

It started as an upgrade to C9 that included all white fixtures. Now, apparently, the next phase is some sort of upgrade all over softlines with more white fixtures. *shrug* Guess I'll find out when it hits us.

Anyone getting the 2.0 upgrade in softlines? Or already have it?
New fixturing. New mannequins that have feet to display shoe and heads to display head gear. Men's shoes will be sold in mens. I believe athlete shoes will be sold in c9. Couple of wall removals in our store. Work bench may have more info under pilot pages.
