I am not (yet) a team member, but I hope to soon be working in one of the currently renovating stores. I've really been learning a lot from this forum, so thanks!
Here is a short time lapse video of the Canadian renovations (some of you might have seen this), but I think it's fairly interesting. The thing about the Canadian stores is that they are all different; no two Zellers stores were the same in size, footprint, entrance location, etc. They were all however in very poor condition.
