Ok, so we have the holiday signing that has lights just inside the entrance. Does this thing make noise? I swear, after this thing went up, when I've been working GS, I hear something that sounds like wind chimes at times and at other times, a man's voice (computer-ish, but not quite) talking. Is it from this sign? Am I completely losing my mind? Or does no one have any clue what I'm talking about and now you all think I'm crazy for hearing things?

No idea. I closed Electronics recently & had noticed it up from a distance (flashing), but haven't been near it while it's been lit up. I'm usually in the store before the juice kicks in on it. Now I'm curious, so I'll let you know if I see or hear anything.

Nope, no sound..Thank GOD! There was a year that one of the signs sang a song. It was horrible.

In overnight stores, do they turn off the sign when the store is closed?

No, they are powered by 16 AA batteries. They are only led lights, so no need to turn them off.

Will the batteries last through the holiday season?

I can see it now.....signing specialists having to WAVE up and change the batteries......but the new batteries don't work.......sign specialists have to WAVE down and then wait to have batteries requisitioned by an LOD and it never happens!

LOL! They'll last the entire season. Amazing how little power those led lights need...

yeah, they should last. i know if they go, they will just not blink at the end of the season. you wouldn't only have to replace them, you would have to take the signs apart to change them out. i think the chimes and stuff are a photo lab or kiosk thing. that or something in a reshop cart or one-spot. heard that when hanging my signs this morning.
