I could still drive it, I just don't want to. I have the worst driving anxiety... I don't know what I'm gonna do yet.

In all seriousness though, I wish you the best of luck with your driving situation in the land of the ice and the snow. I really enjoy my Target in the land of non-cold. If you enjoy yours go for it, but don't jeopardize your safety for a job. I learned that the hard way at my last job (thumb injury lingers). Take your hours as they come because, from what I gather on here, they will be rare later on.

And at least when you are scheduled they can't call you in. They tried calling me in yesterday and today and didn't realize I would be overtime the first time until I told them. 2nd time they called back and
then decided they would call someone else. Lol.

If you have the same IP as someone who posts gay porn then you will be banned as well.

Nah, the gay porn I could live with. It was the false information, lack of capitalization and inability to create paragraphs that finally drove me over the edge. ;-)

I would gladly work the overtime if they would have let me, but I was worried that I would get in trouble by the other 3 ETLs that already knew I would be over 40 hrs if I had worked the past 3 days because of that double.

They did actually call me once when I first started to come cashier one night, but a) I had yet to be cashier trained and b) I was already going to be doing carts that night. I think they only called back because they didn't want me to get OT.
 
Yeah, always let them know if it will cause you to go into OT. Sometimes, on a very rare occasion, when they are so desparate that nothing else matters, they will approve it. But it's rare.

Usually I only pull those shifts from hell when it isn't 4th quarter and hours are scarce and the only way to get extra ones is by pulling really long days. You know, in about 2 weeks when hours drop, then I'll go back to those as needed.

I've told every LOD (one our etl-hr) that I was going into overtime about every shift since last Monday. They just don't seem to care. I'm working tonight 4:30 until 1am and I'm already almost an hr into OT. I've been with Target for over 7 yrs and they used to tell you to come in later or leave early but not this time. It's really strange.
 
sumtimes the only way upper management knows how to motivate people is by trying to make them feel bad and insult them n be mean to them because they don't know any other way to how to motivate them. they have frustrations when it comes to training people because management doesn't like to do any work n team members have to do training but they complain the most about that because they don't get paid enough which is true. I wish management did all the training but they normally don't unless they r new n trying to bring up morale n eventually after being there management gets frustrated and upset n doesn't like to do any work because they think its beneath them to do the job so they just walk around n do nothing. when they get bored and get used to not working at all they get angry because part of human happiness requires work, play, and sleep. so if team members r deprived of any of those 3 things then they will be upset n not happy. in my store there is no AC until open times so a lot of people are frustrated because of working in the heat n humidity.......
don't know why you guys keep banning new members but I guess you can bann me too if you want.today I want to quit as well and I'm glad I ran into this post because I am being treated pretty mean after 2 years of working here by my new management. now this post is basically what is going on with people it seems and has happened to me too. new management in my store does not motivate people but yells at them and treats them like children as well especially in the huddles basically telling everyone its unacceptable that we don't finish a 2300 piece truck within 4 hours when we have maybe 10 people on the floor. lets not forget about everyone who calls in constantly. then we have 2 cashiers and the leaders stand around and don't do anything. today we were trying to get the shelves stocked and we have a lot of calls for people to come and help cashiers so maybe 2 or more people helping with the truck come up to the registers to help. keep in mind our pricing team and presentation team are taken away from there work centers to help with the truck. we don't get any thanks at all and are just told we have to hurry up all the time and its not fun at all even when our hours are being cut and we are thrown from different division to different division.literally every full time leader was standing together watching people stock shelves and then they were in the backroom wasting time. I saw my store leader move a bicycle from the bicycle build area and move it towards the trash compactor. why did she do that? I mean what was that accomplishing? when we brought in flats of backstock the bicycle was in the way and everyone had to keep moving it out of the way because there is baskets of trash everywhere and no one is throwing trash because they are on the floor stocking shelves... then when we are trying to take things to electronics to be spider wrapped or are helping guests they get on the walkie and ask for someone to come start working on the big flat with boxes. we were helping guests and trying to get rid of spider wrap which puts us all in a bad mood.and the training this person mentions is true as well. we have to train a new team member and take all the time to explain things but then they get fired because they missed their scheduled shift. most of the time its because the leader didn't tell them they had a different schedule. we even had one team member in tears at the door as they were fired because no one even told them where the schedule was in orientation or during any training session. its almost like they don't want anyone to work here sometimes because that's the third person this happened to. one guy rode the bus to work and asked if his schedule could be changed to 30 minutes later like some other peoples were when they were interviewed, but then they never did that for them so the bus always got him there 5-10 minutes passed the shift, so they just fired him instead after being late three times. why would they even do that? I also think leaders would probably be in a better mood if they did some work too because they just get bored. after a while they just look for things to complain about or do. our new LOD even told us to go over all of market and make sure all the price cut labels were actually stickered to the inside of the holder. we are not even in the pricing work division and this is what they had us do. after taking about an hour or so to do that then we were complained to because certain presentation isles were not completed. she just made us stop working and then go deal with the price cut labels. it doesn't make sense.A lot of people don't make it passed there 90 days in my store for some reason and we find it very odd. so far only the females have made it passed there 90 days and every hard working male we had do heavy sections like automotive and plastics and pets and furniture were driven out or some how fired. now we have 2 females including myself doing heavy lifting and we have to walk back to the back room and get a step ladder to reach the higher shelves. one time we couldn't even get a team lift for almost 20 minutes and the metal chairs we tried to stock just sat on the flat in the middle of the isle. when that happened we were yelled at in the huddle as the LOD stands right next to me and even though she is supposedly telling everyone she says it real loud right in front of me. I am 5 feet 2 inches tall! I can't lift things that heavy or that high by myself! Yes it gets hot in our store too especially when the heat is on in the winter. for some reason its really hot in the winter because of the heater and then in the summer its just as hot because they don't turn of the air conditioning so I don't get it. I am grateful that I lost weight working here out of my years but it is hard work now for only the 7.75 that I make because I was signed up with the pricing team and not the higher paying flow team division yet I am still stocking shelves and lifting heavy items. this really is slave labor.I know all of you are going to be mean to me too because I watched you do that to these other people on the break room but I have to vent somewhere and I decided to do it here. If I didn't read "I want to quit" as a thread I wouldn't have signed up and it also pissed me off that the person I wanted to talk to was banned now even after she was calling you all out for being mean to her. Just like she says the females are the worst in my store too. they are always making fun of the new girls who are learning and then gossip RIGHT IN FRONT of her about her. it makes me sick and makes me feel bad for these girls. they walk around with low heads and don't even smile or say hi to anyone anymore like they are working in hell and target is their punishment. I wish these stupid gossip girls would be fired for that but it never happens they just continue to work there. most people at target are the most immature people I have ever met and its a shame I am witnessing that on this forum as well with the way you all treat each other too. I also used to read this forum a lot without signing up but its obvious that you all are the ones trolling the new people just like the females do in my store which is just like she said "heartbreaking." but whatever helps you all sleep at night.anyways this person didn't deserved to be banned and treated this way. she maintained a positive attitude and you all continued to ban and harass her like immature gossip girls and when that didn't work and it didn't get to her you just banned them trying to make yourselves feel better. just like she mentioned I try to keep a positive attitude and not let anything get to me but these new leaders who don't appreciate what we are trying to do and how little money we make every time they cut hours is just becoming impossible to maintain a positive attitude. I want to strangle my leaders now and I never had that problem before since we have new ones. this latest LOD even started yelling at people as they were trying to clock out to go to their other jobs. we have about 6 or so team members who have other jobs after they work at target and she tells them that they need to start working somewhere else if they don't stay even though last week we were all kicked out after 3 hours. how do you expect people not to get second jobs if target doesn't give anyone adequate amount of hours to survive. the harshest thing now is that Obama has changed the food stamp rule so if you don't have a disability you have to work at least 20 hours a week or 80 hours a month. sometimes we don't even get THAT many hours to maintain food stamps as most of us were qualified for. so we have been talking about this amongst each other and don't understand what we are supposed to do now. its like target wants all their employees to become so poor they end up on the streets and eventually we will be the homeless target crew who sleeps outside on the benches so we can come to work in the 6 hour down time. a lot of team members are scheduled to close now and then scheduled to open on the same day so its completely wrong. I dont' understand how target gets away with this nor do I understand how the government cannot care about these people who actually want to work but are obviously not allowed to. I wanted to have kids but now I wont even be able to afford things for them unless I was on every single government hand out possible so this is pretty sad and bad.

Did your STL approve OT for you? If not, let them know that the LODs are asking you to go into OT.

I'm guest services tonight. I expect it to be a lot of, "the cashier forgot to give me the 10% off" madness, mixed in with the pre-holiday return rush, mixed in with the "what do you mean I can't return this iPad that I paid cash for and lost the receipt" ridiculousness.

Damn...I need some of that breakroom keg before I even leave for work!
