Please note the goal of this survey is to provide feedback on Target staffing. Although the ideas may be shared your name and any information that may indicate who you are will NOT be shared. Please answer the following questions as honestly and thoroughly as possible.


How long have you been employed by Target Corporation? Why have you stayed? If no longer employed, please state your reason for leaving.

If you have to leave that out it's fine...even just a general area (more than 10 yrs) would be great. I am trying to improve the environment at my store and the best way I can think to do it is to back it with some numbers. Any help you can offer would be so appreciated!

I was with the company for almost 6 years.

The reason I stayed, well I liked the other team members/coworkers I dealt with everyday.

A DTL promoted me to APTL.



What could target do to improve the team member experience?

Offer actual Flexible scheduling. Pay the lower employees a little more, so they can actually make the rent/mortgage payment.

Either C OR D. Keep in mind, I worked at 2 stores.

I'm not going to answer. I've been around a decent amount.

3 1/2. The good TMs, TLs, and ETLs made it alright, but the job itself and the pay was poor. Not the worst thing ever though.

What did/have your managers done to facilitate or help your improvement or possible advancement?


I was promoted once from softlines to HR. One of my former ETLs facilitated that. After their departure, the leadership team became a revolving door and I really was never able to develop. Disappointing.

Not really. Being told I am doing a great job while simultaneously not giving good raises and saying I am not prepared for leadership is a mixed message.






What could target do to improve the team member experience?

Promote from within more. Better pay, obviously.

E. More than 10. When I first thought of it I didn't think that, but yeah, after thinking about it, it's been a lot of movement, even with a decent amount of time spent here. Probably like 11 or 12.

Definitely E. They never stick.
 
My time at target: terrible. I would rather pull a Cobain than ever work for spot again. BRB, shotgun.

Could have been better (but then most things are like that)

Some very good people went out of their way to recommend me for the signing specialist position.

Was/Is your management’s feedback or support consistent? Please explain

The ETL's feedback and support has been consistent in its vagueness and inconsistency. If it doesn't go along with the latest buzzwords from corporate, 'opportunities' from the last DTL visit, it' mostly just them making it up as they go along.


What could target do to improve the team member experience?

1) Pay a living wage,
2) give regular, consistent hours so people can pay their bills from one week to the next,
3) offer real, affordable health insurance,
4) allow their TM to organize and have representation on the floor so that when you get called into a meeting with an ETL you can have a rep with you,
5) make the people at corporate work at least three weeks in a regular store every year,
6) staff the floor heavily enough that it is possible to accomplish your assigned tasks and help guests
7) and go back to having specialists in the the different departments.

Thanks so much for the replies. Please continue to answer if you haven't already. I can use as many as you all will give me. I know the concern isprivacy and I promise that won't be jeapordized I just really need my upper management to understand the importance of the role they play in team morale. Thanks again.
 
my experiences will identify me also so I will pass on this,as regards upper management,who do you think has made all the decisions that had us where we are now.
