I always love when they have the meetings and they pitch this or that to us and they're SOOO excited to tell us about whatever and the entire team (mostly guys) is just like, uh hu, can we just go back to moving boxes?
Damn straight. I don't really care too much about knowing about new store-side rollouts, compliance issues in dept's not relating to me, safety memos about obvious things a kindergartener should know or trivia facts about whatever groups month it is. Just gimme the daily business plans and let me go be The Beast.

My STL shared with me that when Toms partners with Target (November 16th) Target shoe sales are expected to donate from sales millions of dollars that will stay in the usa. Toms usually donates a pair of shoes for every pair sold. I am excited about Toms coming to Target. It's a good partnership and not overly expensive. A win win.

The problem for Target has been the execution of its partnerships.

Eh. Michael Graves did fairly well. Giada De Larentiis did okay til the spaghetti sauce was recalled for e. Coli or whatever it was. Same with Paula Deen til she decided to open her mouth about black folk. I'm pretty sure though the whole Neiman Marcus experience left a bad taste in all of our collective mouths.

Greeeeat. I'm going to have to get a doctors note to excuse me from those earpieces. I have PTSD and don't handle sudden loud noises and distraction well. The walkies are bad enough but having it literally in my head? Nopenopenope. Now I get to roll the dice and see if I get "oh hey everybody look how accommodating I'm being for a disability!" or "well, you know... there's only so much we can do and we have to stay Brand!"

Something that has been in another persons body part is not going in any of my body parts. Wrap that rascal or I'm not interested!!

I'm going to be optimistic and guess that the team lead count is going back to where it should be, specialist positions are coming back, and workcenters will be fully staffed. Oh, and AAR and conversion rate don't matter anymore. Also, everyone will be getting a pay raise.

Had a TM meeting today: We also got informed about the Toms partnership. Also, there's gonna be something big, marketing-wise during Q4 that's suppose to put our competitors, namely our friend, Walmart, in their place. They said they were sworn to corporate secrecy about what exactly it is, but yeah. Also, they confirmed store-to-home is happening. Being piloted as we speak. Hope you're ready.

We start store-to-home next week. It doesnt help that we literally have 20 pallets of boxes that we had to find places for. Not looking forward to this

Yeah, there won't be any earpiece for me, either. Most of my leaders will know why, but the awkward conversations I'm going to have to have with every single person over it (even though my disability is none of their business) is going to be less than fun.

Is this a guaranteed thing for all stores or is this just entering the pilot phase?

I'm curious what this so called "blow-Walmart-out-of-the-water" plan is about. Maybe some kind of discounted layaway?

No. Just. No. Kill me now if they shove that on our guest services people.
My thoughts too but this does seem kind of likely if Target specifically mentioned competing with Walmart

Fresh off that great Target Canada deal target has bought or been bought out by Kmart

I actually really want this program in my store. I get the pain it will be but it will help move product out of the store that is just going to sit forever. We could really reduce the amount of clearance by having more of the stuff sent from store rather than having in the DC. When you have tons of non sweep-able overstock it can be sold and shipped out

What if they just roll it into the reshop system? Now guests can pay a small fee to rummage through a cart of junk to find that thing they pulled off the shelf last week! For a little extra more we'll let you know what cart its actually in.

All of the news sites say Brian wants to take Target back to its domestics and home furnishings roots and get Target's name and image back, instead of the grocery path it wandered down.
That would take a big chunk of total sales volume and comp% out of most stores in my district. I know that my grocery had the third best gross margin and second best total sales across my store.

As big a pain as pfresh can be, it really does get guests in the door.

Not as many people these days have money to buy extras but people need food.

Target "Come in for milk leave with a lamp".

I suspect they mean going back to more fashionable domestic items instead of trying to match every other retailer. He better be pushing apparel too because that's one of the most killer margins area in the store and a great way to snag up and coming women hitting their thirties and forties that will still want to buy reasonably priced apparel that look semi-decent.

Oh, to add to my previous post, Tina will no longer be allowed to say negative things during a visit and GSA will be an official lead position along with PA.Team members will also get bonuses based on quarterly sales and will have set schedules.
