Do you guys have LODs who like to walk around like badasses and try to intimidate you while you are at work? I have like 3 of them at my store. I have this one who looks annoyed at you anytime you have something to ask him. I'm talking ALL THE DAMN TIME. Then he replies to you either sarcastically or just plain rudely. One time I was trying to clock back in from lunch and I got rejected for a short meal. One of the LODs took a deep breath and sighed really loud. As if I was doing something wrong. What the shit? One time, I was even helping a guest out and I had to call a team member to help find what they were looking for. An LOD told me to go to channel 3 and told me that I was delaying the guests time or something. I said I didn't knkw what the guest was looking for (some kind of medicine) and if we carried that specific brand. The LOD said, "god forbid me having to help the guest right?" Having little tolerance for bs like that from "bosses", I almost replied, "or what?".

There has been multiple cases where these LODs have said questionable things and acted very strange. What I mean by strange is: like a fucking asshole. I've never had managers who were assmunchers like this and I will be taking them to HR really soon if they don't get their shit together. Anyone else have these kind of LODs/ETLs/TLs?

Dang we had a few like that but they aren't there anymore. The one morning guy sounds just like who you're describing but I don't see him much. I hate that though it makes you always on edge and feel like you can't ask anything.

EXACTLY! I have made it a habit to make them notice how irrelevant their shitty attitude is in the workplace. One LOD tried to tell me that the team and myself were finishing too close to the next hour with hourly CAF. I laughed and said I bet that we always keep him on his toes. He just went "Hmm" and walked away.

Just to make it clear, this wasn't a situation where we were being lazy. The team was literally 1 BRTM and myself doing 30 to 42 batches of CAF.

Yeah it seems like its to the point of bullying. You should talk to HR or call the hotline because that's not cool.

Don't tolerate shenannigans if you're feeling bullied
Yeah. The way I do that is kind of unprofessional but, not unprofessional enough to get me in trouble. I usually make a joke about whatever it is they are trying to bully or intimidate me with. Sometimes I'll just kind of smile and say, "yeah, ok."

I definitely will if they don't get my subtle hints. I'm trying to give them hints with my body language and with how I handle my replies. Looks like it's just going over their heads.

Be careful with the hotline. I used it because I wasbeing bullied by my last ETL. I gave specifics and even had witnesses. It still did not work in my favor. Target's ETLs protect each other and will turn it around on you. The hotline only seems to work in your favor when it is AP related.

Our STL comes across that way. Everything he says sounds condescending, so I've made it a point to avoid any interaction with him or his pet ETLs. I don't like the way he talks to TMs and TLs, and I'm surprised more people haven't spoken up about it.

Unfortunately bullying and intimidation are considered, if not SOP, than at least an accepted method of management as long as your store is green and making a profit.
The only way that the hotline would be useful is if the LOD is breaking the law (only being abusive to one race, creed, religion, age, or sexual identity) or if it is damaging the profit margin.

That really pisses me off. In other words, LODs are really allowed to take full advantage of anybody they want as long as they don't cross a certain line, a line which is borderline breaking the law. We were suppose to be able to trust our HRs but, every job is there to remind you that HR really does stab you in the back. I have a friend who has an HR manager who accidentally emailed her how he didn't want to give her a paycheck because of her scheduling. The email was meant to go to their boss.

That's kinda funny in a karma way but yeah the situation sucks big time. Can you transfer to another store maybe? Or a different area? Does the LOD work a certain shift and maybe change your availability to not be around them for most of your shift or even at all?

More & more, it seems that HR is there to cater to the ETLs & TLs & not there for the benefit of lowly TMs.

That has always been the case.
HR is not on your side and never has been, as any number of people have pointed out (I tried to find a great post that pointed this out much better than I can but my search skills failed me).
They are there to protect the company and make sure things run smoothly.
If they can help you out in the process, then fine but that is not their priority.
Don't ever expect a HR TL to come down on your side against an ETL unless the ETL has done something that would get Target in legal trouble or assume they have your best interest at heart, ever.

Sadly this was my STL. As many of you know, the STL of my store was a grade A jackass. Everyone in the stored hated him and that is not an exaggeration. He is the reason many TMs, myself included, quit Spot. He doesn't really talk to anyone except to bark orders and tell you what it is you're doing wrong, and boy would he find things to complain about. He told me I didn't smile enough, which is a lie -- sorry but I'm not going to run around with a fake smile on my face acting all chirpy just to appease you. I'd rather guests see me genuinely happy. The fake smile some people in retail do has always been a major turnoff to me anyway. Other times he would come by the front to remind me to do my job, which I already know how to do. He said I was worthless as a GSA because I used a swear word. Yet one of his ETLs has been overheard swearing on multiple occasions and talking about shit like Nazis on the sales floor in front of guests.

Sexual orientation and gender identity depend on the state
