Labeled as "efficient", How does OT work?

My OM just labeled me as efficient (still not out of my 90 days) and I understand that I will now be required to work OT. How do I sign up for my OT? All I know is that I somehow I have to use Workday to do it. I tried to play around with it earlier, but I couldn't make any sense of it. Could someone please give me some insight?

Also, I work A2, will my OT have to be on B2? Finally, I have been trained in 2 positions (CA & IM) how do I know which position I'll work on my OT key?

Sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance!

Thanks. I try not to pester him too much. My first day was his first day training as OM, so he's dealing with a lot!

There are A LOT of variables that apply to OT so it’s really something you’ll want to go over with an OM or HR or a trainer.
Yes your OT will be on B2, and scheduling is all done within the MyTime app not Workday. You’ll probably be in CA on OT.

You'll be automatically scheduled OT in the mytime app when added as proficient if your DC is at mandatory OT. You'll be on b2 2 extra days either 4pm-2am or if at max60 4pm-4am and the days change every week. You'll most likely do CA since the other shift already has an IM team unless they need help and you have privilege's to adjust DPCI quantities\reinstate\can use an SP\RC&RR. I was told today there is a new way IM is going to operate. More people and being in charge of the isle labels with the title of (Label specialist or some bs) for CA and other extra shit being added.

The good thing is when you do OT and it's only 10 hour shifts, they fly by because you are used to 12 hour shifts. Usually you'll get put in CA since it's where everyone starts off and as the B2 OM gets to know you and you get to know other things, they'll put you in other things.

If it's 12 OT shifts on B2 you get your two standard breaks plus an extra break so with 3 breaks it still seems to go faster than a 12 hour shift with only 2 breaks. At least to me it seems to go faster. More breaks for the win!

Wait what 3 breaks? Where I am the 10 hour shift 4-2 gets a 30min break at 7:15 and then a 15min around 10:30. 12 hour shift is a break after 4hours. The first is 30min the second is 25min.

Yep. 3 breaks. Its dumb. You get a short 10 minute break at the 10 hour mark. It use to be because B2 had shorter breaks than A2 so in order to make up for it they would give them another 10 minutes but no one changed anything when both shifts.

Also everyone keeps saying you'll have 2 days OT. That may not necessarily be true. My building is only on one day OT and unless shit hits the fan I don't see us having more. Just depends on staffing and plans. And Covid has literally thrown all forecasts out the window. We have no idea what's happening.

For awhile my building gave B keys one mandatory and A keys two Mandatory (one full one half) so that both keys were doing the same ammount of hours. Maybe thats what they are referencing.

Regular ten hour B shift is two breaks... but... extended twelve hour B1 shift is... come in at 4am and get a short break around 5:45am so everyone still gets to 6am start up and have the same two breaks after that. Otherwise you'd come in at 4am and never get a break until 9am which is 5 hours of working without a break... too much.

Our building has been 1 day scheduled up but also preapproved voluntary OT so I've been doing 2 days. The OM recently said, "If anyone wants OT, please sign up; we're desperate."

I felt like taking them aside and mentioning that using words like "DESPERATE" doesn't really inspire confidence about the morale of our DC to all our current orange vested compatriots standing by now thinking this might be a bit of a shit show.

Or did I overthink it?

Fun example: Would you like to spend some time with me? I'm desperate.

Time will tell, my friends. Time will tell.

When our building is scheduled max, we still only have 2 breaks. For b1 First is at 8am second at 2pm. Of course it’s the same as weekends so the different break periods to help with distancing.

What about people who still came in at 6am instead of 4am? I did that one time because I was thinking I was going to STAY OVER 2 hours instead of coming in early 2 hours. Woopsies.

Also what if the extended early shift is voluntary and people come in at 6am instead? The actions of different DCs fascinates me because I came from one which did deep cleaning of aisles to one where they run out of pallet bands while there is one thousand pallet bands hanging in a single aisle because no accountability on clean as you go. Only by pulling together as better examples can we truly be the best we can be. I think. And I feel.

Our building rarely gives early starts as an option. It’s either max 60 or regular. I think it’s because then the om’s have to come in even earlier.

I suppose it depends on department. Inbound you would get an early break at 5:50 am and then the other breaks (if it was voluntary). Mbp they really don’t care if you take three breaks or two longer ones, especially since all the break times are so weird because of Covid.
