So I'm about 7 weeks into my time with Target now and have only been in my official store for a week or so.
I didn't get a ton of practice with running LOD shifts during my training so I'm wondering if y'all could fill in the gaps of my knowledge. I couldn't find any threads about this so I would LOVE help!

This is what I understand regarding what the LOD should follow up on:

Opening:
Team needs to be filling the floor

Mid:
CAFs need to start being pulled at 11
Keep store as clean as possible

Close
Zone
Recover

What else?

This is amazingly accurate. It should be the new LOD best practice.

At my store, we have a LOD checklist. It lists all the tasks, etc. that need to be completed during each LOD shift. Ask your STL if such a list exists at your store.

I would partner with a peer from a nearby store that runs well (ask your STL for suggestions). You should have a solid routine for every day that you are in the store. Communication is key when it comes to being an effective leader! :)

Definitely check out the routine list on workbench for more details, but:

Open
Arm/disarm alarms per safe and secure best practices
Pull store reports, check closing notes, identify opportunities and create action plan
Ensure essential areas are impactful and ready to sell
Follow up with SDA
Check price audit
Urgent News
Check in with each team, identify workloads and any potential issues
Check payroll to ensure call-outs are filled
Manage talent if call-outs are unable to be filled
Sign off food avenue
Throw trash
Fresh and full by 9 in market
Morning huddle - identify ops for smart huddle, check in with TLs
Open doors promptly at 8AM

Mid
Fresh and full by 4/market sign offs
SBX/FA sign off
Urgent News
Price audit
Throw trash
If your store has a midday zone, identify which areas to focus on
Partner with TLOD to ensure TMs are being affectively directed to the appropriate focus areas

Close
Create recovery action plan
Hold evening huddle
Set expectations and follow up with TLOD
Sign off food ave/SBX
Key log
Market sign off
Price audit
Urgent News
At the end of the night, write up closing notes for E* identifying wins and ops for each area and including closing sales, redcards, attachments, recognition, call-outs, etc.
Close out CO
Lock store at closing, set alarms per safe and secure best practices.
Throw trash
Close CRC

That's all I can think of off the top of my head - it seems like a lot but once you get the hang of it it becomes second nature!
