Today we were informed we will be getting locking doors for all fitting rooms and white boards for each one. We will have to walk the guest in unlock a room and then write their name on the board and how many items they have. On top of that we uave to write thsir name and items they have on a corresponding list on the fr desk. . .suffice it to say oir team is a bit thrown. Im excited for the locking doors but the rest of it not so much. Is this a corporate thing?

I was in a Ross store a few days ago and they had something similar , there was a long line waiting to get into the fitting rooms and the fitting room person was also responsible for the restrooms . she didn't seem overjoyed as she had to enter her code every time someone wanted to go into go in . It was a mess.

Ross stores though, never been in one that wasn't a mad house.

Torrid does the white board thing. I liked it cause I knew what room was mine, and it helps them know what rooms have people and which are empty. But Torrid is a small little store, this will go badly at spot. Not enough people. How is our operator supposed to man the phone and escort all these people to rooms? Our phone is always ringing off the hook.

I hope this doesnt stick then. Our operator generally ends up zoning baby O active hosery mens and half of rtw not the mention mens to. . .I dont see how this works unless we get a callbox for the desk :/ and our operators leave at 5 or 6 we ha ent had a closer in months

I heard about this change from a TL a long time ago. It was when they pulled the FR number system, but nothing ever came of it until now I guess?

Or Target can stop being cheap and just pay someone to stay at the fitting room.

People don't realize how much stuff gets stolen out of fitting rooms.

Few stores in my district are doing it too....I like it from an AP perspective.

Because it's one area you are pretty much helpless in surveilance.

It's kind of unfair to the fitting room folks to put this on them.

I always wondered why multiple tps stores don't stick someone in fitting room rather than having them standing at the door checking receipts

I completely agree we have two tps an aps and our apetl I wish one of them would man the fr for at leadt part of the day I feel like it would be more beneficial in the long run. Our two main fr ladies are well into their 60s and are really lax back on the fr since they have so many zones to do.

Our young TPS spends enough time flirting with a couple of our FROs so he's back there anyway when stuff goes down sometimes lol.

Back when we had TPS, I used to have them cover breaks and lunches on occasion.

Ask your ETL AP if they can provide support occasionally. Not run the fitting room, of course, but their presence could really discourage some people.
