So I am new, just started last week. I just had some questions.

1. My supervisor showed me very quickly, but how do i return items on the register?

2. How do I sign up a customer for redcard? There is a stack of booklets on the register. Do they fill out some form of paperwork that i give them? thanks

1. Scan slip. Anything else, ask for help & get a refresher.
2. Grab app, scan barcode, ask them for debit or credit. Debit requires a blank check. They need a drivers license too. Prompts take over.

Typically, if you are starting out, you will be doing cashiering not doing returns unless they are starting you behind Guest Service (rare case).

Cashiers will checkout guests primarily. Then as GSTLs/GSAs observe you. You may be trained for Guest Service. As a cashier, you will forward guests with returns to Guest Service.

We can do returns at the registers now.

Yea we can but not really useful so our store has kept it to guest services plus half the cashiers don't know how to...
for the red card scan the booklet barcode in the draw under the POS before hitting total then hit it and you fill in their info when they are like putting a pin and such

If you get stuck on one of your early red card apps, just hit your light to blink and get the GSA/GSTL to help you out. They should be happy to, as more red cards makes them look good and you as well. A piece of advice: Identify who consistently is getting red cards on the lanes and see what you can learn from them about the art of the pitch. Asking every single guest is also vital besides the basic fact that it is policy to do so, since pure statistical probability will get you one here and there by just simply asking and relaying a few of the benefits without much effort.

Yeah and it's crazy how someone who you would assume "No way they would want a red card" may be the person to sign up for one.
