Does anyone have foresight on the new point system Target plans to implement in 2026 ? They haven't told us anything yet at my store.
Thanks for the info. Yeah there have been rumblings around my store but noone other than leads have been told anything yet. My store usually doesn't tell us anything they expect us to look into these things on our own .Haven't heard anything at store level. If it starts in February we should hear something soon.
Over the years I have found out important information from other team members talking in the break room than anywhere else. Thanks for the info. Yeah usually someone who is close friends with managers will spill everything around the whole store but nothing from anyone yet. They are playing this pretty close to the vest. I rarely call in maybe like 3 to 4 times a year , I do have elder parents and a brother who just had a kidney transplant so who knows what next year holds but i dont want this new point system to get me fired for things that are out of my control.Over the years I have found out important information from other team members talking in the break room than anywhere else.

Sick pay in most of not all areas is protected i.e you can't be disciplined or reataialiated against for using it. To do otherwise is a labor law violation.I would assume sick pay (or protected PTO as Walmart calls it with their point system) would still excuse an absence or late.
Yeah that's what i was thinking. Hopefully i get my full shifts back soon , i got 15 hours every week so far in January. I wont have much PTO if they keep up with half shifts.I would assume sick pay (or protected PTO as Walmart calls it with their point system) would still excuse an absence or late.
@Peter Parker If you want more hours, try learning another department. The more areas you are cross-trained for, the more consistent your hours will be if that is what you want.Yeah that's what i was thinking. I Am trained for everything but guest service. My store even though we went well above expectations for christmas profit got our hours gutted like i have never seen before. Not sure if it is company wide or just the SD making sure he gets his bonus for staying under hours for the quarter. I have already asked every tl for shifts but were told the only way we will have extra hours are with call ins.@Peter Parker If you want more hours, try learning another department. Only other option then is to get a 2nd job. Since your hours are so low, sounds to me an additional source of income is needed for you to sustain yourself. Exactly what i have done. Already filled out more applications today.Only other option then is to get a 2nd job. Since your hours are so low, sounds to me an additional source of income is needed for you to sustain yourself. Use your skills.
Sometimes, not even this at my store. Called off hours aren't used - maybe they're banked for later in the month? Don't know what happens to the hours, just that we struggle to stay above water with getting truck pushed and back stocked.the only way we will have extra hours are with call ins
Oh yeah they push us alot harder when hours are tight but most of the team pushes what they can and goes home. Told my TL and ETL they will have alot of trush to push in the next few weeks .Sometimes, not even this at my store. Called off hours aren't used - maybe they're banked for later in the month? That's certainly not the way to get more hours. They know exactly what's coming down the pipe.Oh yeah they push us alot harder when hours are tight but most of the team pushes what they can and goes home. Told my TL and ETL they will have alot of trush to push in the next few weeks .
I remember hearing that "if we don't use it, we lose it"Sometimes, not even this at my store. Called off hours aren't used - maybe they're banked for later in the month? Don't know what happens to the hours, just that we struggle to stay above water with getting truck pushed and back stocked.
With hours getting cut We are still getting 2500 piece trucks daily and i have 12 to 19 uboats everyday . At best with 4 hour shifts i can maybe get 4 to 6 boats done depending on the cases. So the only logical option is they will have to push what i can't finish. I didn't exactly word it as they have to push it. Told them i will have alot of carry over if i am not able to get more hours than what is scheduled. By having carry over the Inbound ETL will tell my ETL and TL to push whatever is left over that i wasn't able to finish. That's certainly not the way to get more hours. That is correct yes. If the hours arent used corporate will cut them that much more.I remember hearing that "if we don't use it, we lose it"
They won't be pushing it (at least not all of it), your team in other shifts will push it. They know exactly what the goal times are and if your shift isn't long enough to cover that goal time, they shouldn't be expecting you to complete it and will have alternate plans in place. At least our ETL's do anyway. Telling leaders they are going to have to push isn't the way you want to approach the situation. With hours getting cut We are still getting 2500 piece trucks daily and i have 12 to 19 uboats everyday . I work in domestics and home decor. Have 9 uboats on the line and anywhere from 4 to 10 baots in the overflow sometimes. Plus pick a standard batch everyday and always helping with OPUs.They won't be pushing it (at least not all of it), your team in other shifts will push it. What department are you in? We're taking ~6000 cartons a night and no area has 19 uboats.
Also at my old store when i was TL i always helped my team out when we were tight on hours. Guess i just espected the same with this store as . I wasn't one of those leaders who sat at TSC all day pretending this is highschool and wanted to chat all day. I was always willing and ready to help out my team when things got tough. That is the way it is supposed to be. Maybe the policy has changed in the 2 years i moved stores but idk. They won't be pushing it (at least not all of it), your team in other shifts will push it. Dom and Home Decor are coming in heavy, can see that then. We knew it was coming a week ago, so we informed our counterparts that it was coming heavy and we didn't have the manpower to get it all pushed in 1 night, and sorted them on to pallets and let them know we'd need their help. We're still trying to catch up trucks from having to support fulfillment most nights through the holiday season. It's not just a daytime thing. 😉I work in domestics and home decor. With the hours cut there wont be anyone else after i leave. The pullers pull and the closer spend most of their time on register i heard because the lines get crazy. I didnt tell my ETL and TL they have to push just that no way i can get done with all boats with the 4 hour shifts i have been given.
Seems like it's crazy at all the high volume stores still. Yeah we have alot of pallets in the backroom right now full transition and the steel is already full and more keep flooding in. I assume the higher ups have a plan for everything. All i can do is what i can do. Flow team and midshifts are the only ones who push in my store. Closers are strictly zone and backups for register. But we do come mostly clean most days. I had 15 boats today and got through half of it . So i feep like i did a decent job with truck , SFS , audits and reshop. Just not enough hours to do everything. I get the hour cuts but makes it so much harder for everyone.Dom and Home Decor are coming in heavy, can see that then. We'll get through it between all the shifts. The change in strategy to heavily front load everything is rough, but having a plan to deal with it as quickly as possible is paramount, so it doesn't clog up your backroom, hindering your other processes.
We're a very high volume store, so all the TLs, and most ETLs, are heavily involved in getting the product on to the floor (for the most part, or they don't hang around very long). Internal promotions keep that culture intact. That's always been our store's policy.
