I was just wondering at other stores is it still pricing team? Or does each area mark there departments markdowns .

My store is a mixed bag. We do end to end, but the pricing team is doing markdowns still. Which is good. Otherwise considering the short shifts and heavy workload, it would never get done.

Oh, where to start? At first, they tried to separate softlines and hardlines. The regular pricing team would do hardlines and new, softlines only, pricing team would do softlines. They were under the softlines team lead.

Big disaster. Week after week, the softlines crew would fall further and further behind.

Now, after about a year, softlines is a disaster. We have unmarked salvage everywhere. The worst is the hanging product in the backroom. Salvage, unmarked clearance, who knows.

So, the regular pc team is going to take back the entire process.

An entire year of that nonsense? Yikes!

Price change team marks everything. Backroom pulls price change, which is still odd to me. You would think price change team would pull price change, but #target

They pull it in the evening so its waiting for them in the morning, trying to pull it while we have a truck unload and auto pulls is stupid. No vehicles, no one to mark it and no where to put it.

They tried giving price change to softlines, it didn't get done. It wasted time they could use for selling and filling out sheets of paper and that was more important to the ETL.. So it went right back to price change.

We won't talk about what they found during inventory prep.

Our previous ‘price change’ team is scheduled some days as softlines, and some days as hardlines lol. Other than our schedules and payroll looking like we are doing it the new way, it’s business as usual. A year and a half ago, we had a price accuracy TL. He wasn’t replaced after he quit, and for about a year, price change hadn’t been anywhere near caught up. First, one of the softlines TLs was given price change and she ignored it, then backroom TL was given it and while he kept the back clear of price change the stuff on the sales floor wasn’t getting done. Finally, recently, the presentation TL took over. Now when price change is falling behind, he literally has his whole team switch to price change and they blitz it out.

Green here. SL doing their own, and pricing team still does HL.
