I know this is probably a silly question but there are certain times posted on the board in TSC for when you can ask for days off. But if I need to ask for a week off for vacation in June will I have to wait until those days are posted on the board (which would mean I would have to wait months to ask for it off.)? Or is there a way to go ahead and ask for it off now?

if you need to request a whole week off, I would do it as soon as possible. You don't have to wait until the days are posted.

MyTime Self Service on a TSC computer. You can request days off there. Do it ASAP and follow up with your ETL to make sure it was approved.

So the biggest issue is people requesting vacation PAY early. Make sure you are requesting the time, not the pay. Then talk to HR and your direct ETL to get it approved.

I won’t be eligible for paid vacation by that time unfortunately.

The times posted on our board are the deadlines for when you can ask. You can always ask way ahead of time. That way it's most likely gonna be a "yes" and it's well before anyone asks.

You can request time off 6 months in advance of the date. I would request Christmas off in July. Family is out of town. Never denied
