Archived Promotion

Since I got hired, I haven't really done what I was hired for. I was hired for flow, but as of late, I have been scheduled for backroom, hardlines, flow. The hours have been all over the board, except I haven't done an open since my training days. Is it that my TL and ETC, STL are desperate to fill a void or is it that I am being considered for a promotion in the future? It would be neat to be promoted, but I am thinking that they are just filling a void. Where have the morning shifts gone...LOL. It's been 11-3, 11-4, soon 9-6, 1-8

Unfortunately they're getting you cross trained so you plug holes during the holiday season.

Look at it this way, being cross trained will help you get hours in January when hours are non-existent.

They are trying to fill in voids where they need extra hands. If you really want a promotion, you have to inquire about it and work towards it. Food for thought though, be prepared to do more than what you are doing and possibly not being "regonized" or compensated for it. Being promoted is not all about "physical" grunt work, but how you problem solve, fix areas that need attention and help others achieve what they need to do to get the necessary work done.
