3 or so months. Seasonal FLOW TM promoted to a TL position. At least I think he was a flow TM. In our store we always have someone work with our Flow TL after flow leaves and they stay 8 or so hours every truck day and kind of help lead the team, is this just a flow tm with hi potential. I have never asked. I was pretty pissed about it though considering they were just over their 90 day period I think.

Our store is hiring externally for all of our TL positions, half of the time they dont even post them anymore when they open up, they've told everyone who has applied that they arent good enough (even myself a former specialist that was told I had TL potential from my old store) enough times we dont bother to apply anymore

TL used to be a potential goal for TM's to reach. Now it's getting to be unreachable as they're now requiring college degrees just to be a TL. My current SRTL was a TM promotion and she doesn't have a degree and she wondered why college graduates would be willing to work for so little that maybe it was the economy? I have suspicions that they're paying them more but I have no idea for sure.

Our HR-ETL was out for maternity leave and we witnessed a GSA get promoted to TL without any of the protocol. The job opening wasn't posted, no one was allowed to interview and I don't even think the candidate interviewed. It was just a matter of "Hey you, would you like to be a TL?" and the candidate said "yes" and tada they became a TL. Granted, if our HR- ETL had been on the job she would have put a hatchet in that PDQ. But when the cat's away... the mice will play? :p
