About 10% of guests' payments are made with cash. This might be higher in some parts of the US, lower in others. Our SCO machines theoretically can accept cash payments and provide cash back, however the current generation of machines are prone to malfunctioning with cash more than the SCO machines of the past. Our store generally disables the Cash payment option. We don't have anyone with enough time and expertise to keep fixing the SCO cash-processing issues, it just creates a headache. To really have SCO terminals work properly with cash, you gotta have somebody on site who has the knowledge and time every day for routine maintenance of these machines. It's similar to an ATM, it needs regular adjustment so the paper money doesn't stick together etc.
