Hello, I am a team member for a store in the tech department. I have a question regarding Sick Time Payout. I plan on quitting due to a new job offer that pays much much better. I have been with the store for since late 2023.
I have not put in my 2 weeks notice of leaving and have 32 hours of sick time payout, the problem is that my new job starts very soon. I don't have any hard feelings for target, but what are the legalities and policy on just using all my sick time for the up and coming schedules and then quitting? I have very high anxiety when it comes to things like this.

Stores in different states deal with payouts.

If you already put in your notice and don't already have some agreement with your store...you will be required to work your scheduled shifts. In some states, stores will require to work your last day. If you just leave, at most you will be marked un-rehireable.

Save the Sick Time for payout. Recommend giving up your shifts if anyone is willing to pick them up.
