Archived Signing up for benefits

Hey all, I am fairly new to Target, and I know this is the time to sign up for benefits and whatnot, but I was wondering if it's possible to not sign up for them?
I already have benefits via family members, and I really don't want to pay for something that I already have.
Neither HR or my TLs have been helpful regarding all this, I was wondering if anyone had any info on the subject?

It may be too late in your region but our signup period starts tomorrow.

AND....I just got an email that says I have to sign up by March 31st??? My benefits package said the signup period was from 2/5-2/15??? Anyone know what's up with that???

benefits deadlines range nationwide from store to store. for us, it's march 1st.
