I got a call today asking of I wanted to do softlines tonight, I've never been trained for anything other than cashier and even that barely. I'm not going in but I'm curious as to what I would be doing if I had said yes and in case they need me in the future.

Extra small in the front, Extra large in the back. Finger space hangers equi-distant. Fold clothing. Not difficult but mind-numbing (in my opinion). If your store is like mine you'll end up on a checklane for most of the time anyway.

Go backs and zoning. You'd come in and grab the go backs from guest services, sort them at the fitting room, and put them back out on the floor. When you finish that you start folding everything on the tables and do that over and over in all the departments. That's basically it except you're often the first to be called to back up cashier. So there's that.
