Okay so I don't want to spend a bunch of time complaining about hours and allocation, but I have a heavy home store and GM typically has anywhere from 8 to 11 team members scheduled and I'm lucky if I get three team members to push. is this typical? I'm finding it hard to reach the push expectations and still find time for all of my team lead expectations. Also the GM leads try to treat me like a team member, maybe because I'm a woman? It seems like my ETL'S s hold me at a higher standard than the GM leads even though I have seven departments in the store & a much higher workload. I am actively looking for another job but, without the BS I really like my job and I'm good at at it. super frustrated

Do you know what your average push time is for your area 3 people seems pretty good for home/seasonal. I typically only get 2 tms and we have to use gm people to supplement the extra. Home/seasonal is a large footprint but it is typically less freight.

I see the same thing at our store, they really treat our SSTLs way more aggressively… I watch them be the hardest working leaders in the building and the SD will still berate them over the radio for just little things.

I want to add to this and say that this is the heaviest time for your area. At the end of the day the freight needs to get done and your peers should be helping you if your not getting the hours allocated right you should ask for help and probably speak to your ssetl and see if you could get more hours. It's probably a little too late as back to school is on its way out and Halloween is just around the corner, but you got a few more weeks to really get everything back in order.

I noticed that also. The TL‘s that are working the hardest going nonstop are the ones always yelled at. The TL’s that sit at TSC 1/2 the day and call in sick often get left alone. Why is that?

Same at my store. I guess they get away with it because they are the ETL’s pets. Either that, or the ETL’s are afraid to tangle with them. 🙄

Home & Seasonal is a beast. My location was over a 20% sales mix and I didn't get much GM support at all. I would take the hit for bad transitions when the Inbound/GMTLs didn't trap any transition or didn't sort it (looking at you, Dec Home/Dom transitions). Don't get me started on the seasonal EC refreshes. Yeah, totally realistic to reset 20 Kitchen, 15 Domestics, and 8 Dec Home ECs in a single week.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a team to handle all that.. we ll call it "plano team" . Worth a try.

Hey, great idea.
Maybe have one of those people be responsible for sorting the signage from the box when it comes in and make sure it all gets to the right people.
You could even have them specialize in hanging the more difficult signs that take a lot of time.
You could call them, I don't know, the signing specialist.
Can't hurt, right?

I recently had a meeting with my TL, ETL, and fellow TM.

They were concerned about hitting the pull percentages consistently yet ignore the fact that this other TM is on break constantly and pulls very little.

Naturally they didn't have anything on the computer pulled up in Greenfield showing said percentages.

If only if you had some of hand held device that would track how many items a TM pulls in a given shift.

Let's pitch it!! Lol

Our two new TLs haven't transferred into their new roles yet but off training somewhere.

Where are their replacements?

No one wants to transfer to a department where they won't be trained.

You'll always receive training. Most times they go to a different store, so whether the current lead is still there or not is moot
Correct for the TLs.

I meant for the TMs that are replacing those TMs that got promoted.

I wouldn't want to work in a department in which the new TL has not ever worked in the past.

Yeah I've done 5 different tl positions and haven't been trained once, besides my first one which was in store and only 3 days long.

Except on the job training.

A lot of companies besides Target don't consider training a value added process.

They always think once they train you will take that skill set and go somewhere else.
