I don't have health insurance (part-time), but my co-workers who have it have said that it's decent. High co-pay, and somewhat limited selection of doctors, but otherwise good.

I will admit that I was highly critical of our health coverage...the way it was worded on paper made it sound like it was pretty bad. I went years and didn't use mine at all. This year, I had to use it ...had some minor outpatient surgery done etc. I will admit that I was wrong...it seems to be pretty good insurance. Now, I did have to go to a hospital an hour away from my home...because the one closest didn't take our insurance....but I was still happy with the coverage .

With the HSA/HRA, there are no copays.
You check out & they send you a bill after it's been applied to your deductible.
Our family ded is $4700; out of pocket is nearly 10K - and that's IN NETWORK.

What is the monthly rate you pay for targets policy ?

I had the HSA and basic dental for myself a couple years back when I was a full time GSA. Paid about 25-30 per paycheck (was a smoker then too)

The coverage wasn't terrible, you get a free yearly checkup, and it pays a lot for any other visits.

Got 'The Works': HRA, enhanced dental, vision, LTD, life, legal, FSA contribution and am a smoker and have less than 40$ come out of each check. So far, it's all quite worth it.

For just the medical, its somewhere around 50- 55 per check...so 100- 110 a month. I don't recall the exact amount . I am single and have no children so its just me on my policy.

Huh, no co-pays? I have to do co-pays for mine, and I have the HRA.

Nurse Practitioner - $15
PCP - $30
Specialists (anybody who is not your PCP) - $55
Physical Therapy - $55

And if you have to make an emergency room visit, you have to pay somewhere between $200-225 upfront.

How long after you join target can you get dental insurance? When can I apply and how do you qualify? I work pt.

To get insurance, you have to average 30 hours a week for a year.

Edit: It's changing to 30 this year.

I continue to work at Target because of the health insurance. It is comparatively inexpensive, they pay a portion of it, the coverage is exceptional. We have extraordinary health needs at my home - I have a child with numerous rare disorders and many that are not rare. Our monthly healthcare expenses are very high even when my child is not "sick". We have met our deductibles and out of pocket expenses 6 months into the plan year and now our healthcare is covered 100%. Up until this year you did have to average 32 hours to get insurance. Federal law states that full time is 30 hours and Target will be changing to that for the upcoming insurance enrollment.

Before I came to work for Target, I paid $2k a month for insurance that was worse than Target's, because we are self-employed. I get lower deductibles, vision and dental for my spouse and kids for about $550 a month. I know, $550 is a lot but compared to $2000, it's a really good deal for me. With that being said, an entry level TM insuring only himself cannot pay rent, eat AND buy the insurance offered by Target. It sucks.

I had some medical issues in Jan/Feb of this year and as a result had to have out patient surgery. My total bills were a little over 20 grand...I paid about 3000 out of pocket. So, it really is pretty good insurance. Are there some better plans out there? Sure...but I am thankful for what I have.

Health insurance is a thorn in my side. I started working at target to cover my costs for insurance. Then the ins. company I had cancelled their policy - not just for me for everyone in my age group.. I could have kept it but it would have gone up from 300.00 to 800.00 a month directly through aetna - just for me. So I signed up for Target's health ins in January to be told 2 weeks later that target was cancelling it for part time employees. I started looking into obamacare - I didn't qualify for any of the tax credits.
HR told me I would be eligible for targets health plan this year, so I took it.. I wasn't sure if it would be a good plan, so I also had them take out the max (2500.00 a year) for the spending account. That is pre-taxed dollars that you can use towards medical payments, dental payments or band-aids..
It ends up that Target's United Healthcare HRA plan is very good for me (in my state) All my doctors are on it. So I don't have to pay much when I go. It's 20% of negotiated fee. so if the dr submits 290.00 and the plan discount is 160.00 (that's the amount that the doctor is allowed to accept), the plan pays 104.00 to the dr as long as you have met your deductible, and you get billed 26.00 from the dr.. Then if you have 'Your Spending Account" you use that to pay (which is the credit card you get if you picked the health saving account and have them take money out of your check each pay period for medical)

The deductible (if you are on the single, not family plan is 900.00 a year, but if you did the health assessments online, you get 500.00 credit, which is put against your deductible, making your new deductible 400.00.
have I confused you yet??
Anyway, I didn't realize that the plan would cover as much as it did. I still have a lot of money in my spending account.. sigh.. so I either have to have lots of tests done or buy lots of band aids by mar 31, 2015 or I lose the money I put into the account..
I know it sounds very confusing.

I hope I qualify for the Target health insurance for next year.. otherwise I will have to apply for Obamacare, which I will be able to get this year since they have changed some things around - I checked to make sure. :D

If you have any questions about the health coverage, pm me - sadly I know a lot about it.

I think the best answer is a question: what insurance? Target is better than some but it's the worst/most expensive I had. In our area it was HSA only, all out of pocket until $7000 per person deductible was met. 1 free physical no prescription coverage. Pregnancy would have cost us $9000 out of pocket compared to $30 I would pay now. My monthly premium was $600.

No screenshot but if you go to pay and benefits there is an Area that explains all the benefits and gives costs per check. There isng a cut and dry amount. Depends if you are single , marries or have a family. Also depends what items you choose. Medical dental. Long term disability. It explains it all there
