I don't think a TM "asking out" a TL is a fireable offense, unless you were sexually harassed. If you actually had a relationship that would be different. Your ETL shouldn't be listening to gossip from someone who doesn't work at Target. The TM might have been fired for other reasons. Seems like that TM makes poor choices.

Your reaction is all you can control in this situation.

Go in, explain your concerns and recent events to your ETL if you want your job, or want to help the TM get their job back (maybe too late for that, idk).
