I was hired at the end of September as Seasonal help. Who should I speak to about wanting to continue with the store if they have openings?

Lay low & wait to see if you are on the schedule in January. Hopefully, you have asked to learn other work enters or got a lot of red cards since day 1.

I have never called in and have come in early, stayed late, and come in on days off. I got 3 redcards today, and 6 more since last Friday. My register times are in the high 80's so I hope that's good. They have trained me a bit at GS and had me break down 1Spot and relocate it to seasonal clearance. So I have my fingers crossed. Thanks guys!

Just talk to your team lead. They eat that crap up when you talk to them saying you want to know how you can strengthen your position to being eligible for permanent hiring. It shows you have ambition and stuff, yadda yadda. But seriously, by just asking you get bumped up the line faster for consideration IF there are openings after christmas and IF you are in good standing (which sounds like you are).

And don't call in. One call in and they may decide not to keep you.

I doubt that. It might be true if you were an otherwise 'meh' employee. But I can't imagine a store letting go of someone stellar because they got sick.

At least at my store, if you've been trained for GS, it means we're keeping you. We don't bother to train cashiers that we are likely to let go over there, doing so is a waste of payroll.

Let your TL and ETL know. And keep doing what you're doing!

At my last two stores, 1 call in by a seasonal between thanksgiving and Christmas, they weren't kept.

Fact is, there's no payroll in January. Depending on the store, not many may be kept. If it's between you and 5 others with perfect attendance, you don't want to give them a reason to pick someone else to keep.

Wish I had some idea tho.....I'm a single mom with 3 kids...
