    Archived target account break?

Yup. Shit has hit the Target fan.

Archived Questions about what can and cannot be returned

Yeah. We can donate dry or canned goods. But I've seen people return cooler/frozen/opened items and it just drives me up the duckin' wall.

Archived KrebsOnSecurity Breaks Story on Target Data Breach

I can't wait for guests to calmly sympathize and understand that it's not the fault of anyone at store level... ...and by that I mean I can't wait to get chewed out 50 or so times. I'm closing GSA tonight, and as soon as I get in I'm tracking down my LOD and asking how we're going to handle...

Archived Questions about what can and cannot be returned

Yeah, as long as the computer allows it, we pretty much take back anything and everything. It's a sad situation. The other day, I had a woman return a pound of butter, and a bag each of brown sugar and powdered sugar. I asked her if there was something wrong with them. She said, "Nope. I just...

Archived LOD possibly causing tension between TMs and I?

Don't rely on someone else to call out recognition for a job well done. If you think someone needs recognition, recognize them!

    Archived Discount Card

Talk to the people in HR/TSC. And that's idiotic that they won't let you just give them your employee number. You work with them. They know you're a team member. What kind of "abuse" would it be, really? Sheesh.

Dafuq? Did I just enter a high school chatroom?

    Archived Cashiering Functions

Meh. Even as a GSA, I don't have them all memorized, especially since there are some that are almost never used. It depends on your status, whether you're at a check lane or at Guest Service, etc. And certain ones open up another list of K options. I suggest just playing around with the...

    Archived Cashiering Functions

I'm 99.9% sure they each have a description on the screen. "Even exchange," "fix a mistake," etc...

Yup. I use it obsessively when I'm cashiering.

    Archived Do Cashiers Clean Bathrooms?

Haha. Srsly. Cashiering is probably the most germ-ridden job in the store.

    Archived LOD questioning a callout

Did your dad very suddenly fall very ill? Is he in the hospital or otherwise unable to take care of himself? If not, I agree with your LOD. Give them a bit more notice.

Archived New hire - called in but had an appt.

"On call"? How strange. Unless you're officially scheduled for a shift, you're not responsible for it, and can't get in trouble for not covering it.

    Archived Hey, new Cashier.

Pick one of the team leads you feel comfortable with, or whom other team members seem to be at ease with. Just ask to speak to them privately, and let them know what's been going on. Be as polite and respectful as you can.

    Archived Hey, new Cashier.

I would suggest talking to another Team Lead about this, or even an ETL or the STL. Your GSTL is out of line and needs to be more professional.
