How do you sign into SCO?

Just wondering how you sign into SCO when helping a guest

    In the news

Target expects to lose 600 million this year in thefts which it attributes to organized crime. They are also spending more money on new theft detection systems. They do not mention self-check out and inflation are probably adding to shrinkage. I don't understand, either get rid of the self-check...

Work around for not being able to generate Speed ID on old POS?

As of this AM, the old POS no longer generates Speed IDs. Is there a work around with a barcode generator so we can use it on the self-checkout machines? If so, how? A how to do-it-yourself for dummies would be great. I hate punching in my TM # and PIN in front of guests.

    Self-checkout

How does self checkout work at your location? I’m curious because I’ve been at my location for a few years and we’ve always stood towards the middle and watched guests and assisted when need be. Since covid we’ve been wiping down in between each guest. I have visited other local Targets and they...

Service & Engagement Question about "Loading" Screen glitch at Self-Checkout

I was just curious if any other stores experience this glitch at self-checkouts where the screen says "Loading" for a long time after a transaction and it won't let the next guest start scanning their items. At my store, it usually happens after 4:00 PM when a guest pays with either cash or a...

COVID-19 Social distancing at self checkout

I visited another nearby Target store earlier today, they carried a couple of items currently sold out at our store. At their self-checkout, their protocol was to only use 2 of the 4 SCO registers to maintain a safe space between guests. Is this the case at your store? At times at SCO, when...

Service & Engagement New Self Checkout

I’m sorry if this has already been asked. I tried to search for the answer. With the new SCO, is there a way to enter the dcpi? I was covering someone’s break and it was really busy so I just did “no barcode” on a clearance item that didn’t have a tag and entered the price. If the guest tries to...

Self-checkout machines running out of change

From what I understand, corporate rules don't allow us to refill SCO machines during the day. Some guests are inserting $100 and $50 bills, buying something really cheap like a $1.49 travel-size toothpaste or stick of gum, and getting back lots of paper bills, with the result that other guests...

I'm Lost! New SCO software with insidePOS?

Hello. Our store just got the new self checkout software, and I need to reprint a receipt for my AP team. But now, InsidePOS is not pulling receipts from SCO, assuming from this new software. Anyone know a way around this?

    Being Proactive

Hi! So yesterday I was at work, and I was at Self-checkout. And like I said in my first thread, I was still uncomfortable and don't know what to do. My TL told me that we should be Proactive because it is one of the expectations there which I agree with him about that, but I'm a shy person. Is...

    Calling AP anonymously

For the SCO folks: why not establish a code directly to AP to summon them ASAP. Doing this so the thief has no idea what you're doing would prevent lots of thefts. Set up a unique code, or code word identifying an issue at SCO, then nail the SOB!

    SCO nervous

I picked up a few things at a local Target, used SCO. Red reusable bag in hand I scanned my card and the "bring your bag" prompt. It didn't work. The SCO attendant came over and was a nervous wreck feverishly chomping on a wad of gum and hitting buttons left and right. She was a mess. (gum...

    Self Checkout Software Update

So, I searched a bit and did not see anything on this yet, so, I'm just wondering how the other stores out there are dealing with the software update on the self checkouts? We all think it sucks to the max at my store. It is causing so much more confusion and not helping guests AT ALL!!!

SCO POS 2.0 - Can you do anything?!

So our store got "New POS" or "POS 2.0" or whatever it's called on the self checkout machines. Can you, as a Team Member,... do anything?! You throw it in "Store Mode" and your options range from: - change a price/price adjustment - suspend the transaction - void an item - void the...

    Archived Modernization sucks

So GSA’s are no longer a thing. Whoever was a GSA is now always scheduled at SCO and they have to which the lanes still and take care of everybody. most of our former GSA’s have left the store so now they’re scheduling some of us cashiers at SCO to watch the lanes. It makes me super nervous and...

Archived Guests getting pissed off at SCO.....

Over the past month or two our store has been massively under staffing the front. Generally after 7-8 p.m. due to breaks, getting carts, etc.... we only have one person to watch the entire front. Because of this we often don't have any lanes open. Just SCO. If it gets really busy we call for...

    Archived GSA or Loss Prevention?

My store has had a lot of theft recently. I have always loved my job, but in the past week, I have begun to hate it. Leadership is suddenly acting like it is the GSA's responsibility to stop theft/the GSA's fault if there is a push out on their shift. We have even been told that if there is a...
