our store is suppose to have two GSA's. But how you have 2 gsas when they are suppose to be the only people in the cash office i don't get how that works. We currently have 3 GSAs and 1 gstl. We're trying to get it to 2 gstls (this will happen soon as we move TL's around) and 2 more GSA's. It's a struggle to do the schedule every week especially when all three of the GSA's request a ton of time off.

Ok, now I'm curious about the GSA count. We have too many with four, personally. We have one really part time GSA (weekends only during the school year), and then the three of us "fighting" for hours. With 2 GSTLs, and the FA/SB TL who takes one of the shifts each week to pad her own hours, I only get two GSA shifts a week...which is totally fine with me, but I need the hours that come with being a GSA.

Does anyone have the GSA count for the different org charts?

The "counts" we are seeing have always been around. The old org charts had GSA headcounts listed on them as well, however stores are not held to them at all. I doubt AE14 would change that.

I was looking at the target careers website and saw listed a photo lab team lead position. I didn't know there was such a position, even with wet labs why would a store need a team lead just for that. Has anyone here worked at a store the had a photo lab TL?

I hope they don't go nuts with the GSA headcounts if they do them. My store right now has a Sr. GSTL (new), 2 GSTLs, and 3 GSAs. We're org chart 1 >_>. Hard enough to get over 30ish hours now...

We never had a TL, but we did have a photo lab specialist. Then HQ took out our wet lab, so all we have is the KPM that the GSTLs fight with every day.

When you apply for positions through eHR you come across a whole lot of weird ones. SrTL-Jewelry is by far the strangest one. Why would you want a Sr to own such a detailed area?

For an org one store, you're two gstls over count.

Oh I'm all too aware. One of the GSAs was previously a GSTL who dropped down because she's older and was tired of the headaches. Storewide we're actually 4 TLs over count, and we had a SrTL from SL quit very recently.

I poked around tonight, as the organizational chart shows, an org 1 store should have 1 GSTL and 3 GSAs. You simply can't do the schedule on an ongoing basis with less. So once they shift two GSTLs out, then you should be golden with 4 or 5 GSA shifts a week (unless you have TLs like they do at my store who pad their own hour each week with GSTL shifts, which I think is kinda crummy).

Still haven't heard anything, but saw the head count yesterday. Losing 4 TLs, but keeping ETL AP. It also said we will have flow, BR/IS, and logistics TLs. We've never had a log TL.

As an update apparently GSTLs taking a step down to GSA is the new thing, so we're currently at 4 GSAs, 1 GSTL, 1 Sr GSTL. Next schedule has 2 GSA shifts, one 4 hour cashier, 2 ~4 hour market. :(

As far as I know the official name for BR/IS position is Logistics TL

I work in market as a PA, and market is by far our busiest section of the store. ~25% of our sales come from market and is the ONLY section of our store that is actually up in sales (we are Volume A, Group 3, i think). As of now we have 2 PAs and a CTL and already have an almost unbearable workload.

I was recently (about 3-4 months ago) promoted to PA and have no clue what my future with Target is, as apparently, group 3 stores will only have 1 PA and a CTL it seems (Which in my opinion is ridiculous, and seems as though it will only handcuff the only positive section of my store). I would like to know how they plan for us to get all of our work done when market is pulling in $10-11 million dollars alone...

It would be nice if anyone would tell us what is actually going on, besides just telling the ETLs/TL's so we can all plan our lives around it.

It seems as though market is getting the absolute shaft, once again, even though it seemed, even before these cuts, you were able to just barely manage getting all of your work done.

You are indeed correct. The official name for both the BR/IS position and the Flow position is Logistics TL. Although most just say Flow TL or BR TL.

Holy crap. That is terrible. My store is ULV and our market team has been stretched thin with 1 CTL and 2 PAs. I can hardly imagine how difficult that would be at an A Volume store.

Might it have something to do with Portrait Studios?

You're still one GSTL over head count. Why a GSTL would step down in a GSA position is beyond me. But you are basically at the same head count we are right now. If it's a major GSA week for me, I get two shifts. Otherwise, just one. Luckily, we only have one (very part time) service desk person so the rest of our hours generally come from the service desk.

Those 2 GSTLs who stepped down are older and I'm guessing not as reliant on their incomes (both married) so probably just didn't want some of the headaches or needing to xfer stores for a much longer commute.

We have 2 dedicated service desk TMs plus one who only works weekends at most, so while I get the occasional hours over there it's not very consistent.

Chances are the SRTL who is a GSTL will be shuffled elsewhere at that store. That's how my store handled it when we lost a our second GSTL.

We have to lose one senior TL, but that will likely come from the hard lines and soft lines TLs being combined, since they are both senior TLs. So that means that our SrGSTL would stay and our GSTLs position is gone. But we are doing our best to not let it go that way if at all possible.

I'm not sure if this is how your store views it, but ours prefers to have our Sr TLs to be either in Logistics or Sales Floor because as a GSTL the LoD shifts eat into their closing schedule and they obviously can't close the lanes as the LoD.
