As we head into the special crazy that is Back To School do you have any tips or tricks to help it go more smoothly? Besides burning it all down or throwing insane amounts of payroll at the issue?

The best we’ve come up with is to have a TM at night who is just working BTS and covering tech breaks/meals so they have familiarity with the area to make reshop and zoning more efficient.

Anybody else have any good ideas so it’s not wrecked before August even gets here?

When setting have someone designated for ISM - so easy to drown in it all - assemble bins early if at all possible.

Maintenance requires good teamwork between stationary and seasonal DBO to push reshop, share freight and do backstock - they need to agree on some equitable share of workload - maybe they split freight, swap what is left, then seasonal pushes all reshop and stationary does all backstock since most of it will stay in the stationary backroom aisles anyway.

Freighy can get overwhelming- it’s nice if your store does smart huddles at times to support.

Who does the 1:1, the cart attendant?

Plot twist - our stationary and BTS DBO is the same person.

1:1 is a never ending game of not it.

Dysfunctional you say?
